Picotto is fantastic, spanning genres from trance over techno and electro to house - "good music" as he describes it himself. The common denominator seems to be that a track should be energetic or melodic. When he DJs he's very good at interacting with the crowd.

Go find the meganite album, as that's pretty much the kind of music you'll find him playing today.

the hell r U talking about?! we had a great interview, all in italian too... best interview to date, to be honest.. he's just a scumbag, cheating kind of guy...openly too!

plus, when i went to see sven vath and mauro at kool haus in toronto, sven vath ROCKED the mufuh house....mauro just killed the vibe with his weirdo saxophone-experimental deep techno... and he was so "animated" but like.. pretending to be a zombie is Not cool.

He might not be cool, but he's fun. In my book fun>>cool. (But I realize that I'm pretty much alone with that attitude in the current clubbing scene.)

He's not fun, he's not cool (i personally don't care about being cool or not, i'm a nerd myself), he has (or had, might be divorced by now) a wife and kids and always had a "tour slut" and totally do not respect that at all- he's not that bright, he's more of a baffoon (sp)...and he also had this air of superiority with people-- but since i speak his native language, he was very kind to me. he was a dick to everyone else.

On the contrary I'm pretty much prepared to believe that Mauro is a terrible arrogant, cheating son of a bitch (since I've never met him but you have), but I still love his productions, have been introduced to more excellent music through his livesets than those of any other DJ, and love the atmosphere when he DJs. Those things have nothing to do with him being a bad person.

i understand your point of view and i respect it. i have this thing where i literally get pissed off if i know i'm supporting a disrespectful person- let me explain... i went to go see Cinderella Man with my family and we NEVER go to the movies but i was actually upset inside that my parents were giving a small insignificant amount of money to an asshole that throws telephones at hotel concierges. i know that sounds ridiculous but at least that's how i operate. and yea, there are plenty of cases where i'm sure i'm throwing money away to many an asshole but obviously i can only be weary of the ones i'm aware of.

yea, rocker is a "fun" song but who Hasn't played it at least 56 times in the past 2 years?

Not a bad word about Ferri - but I think that you're selling Picotto short here. All my discs and vinyls are back in Denmark, so I might be going out on a limb here, but I'm pretty sure that Ferri's not involved in *all* the great Picotto tracks. I know what you mean, and have thought like that more than once. However, I try to turn it around in "that asshole is not going to repulse me so much that I won't enjoy this thing"-style. Which, I guess, is as ridiculous a philosophy as yours. But at least I enjoy more things following it than not.
