OMFG: Midi making out of audio!

This thing is ****** great!, if you rip a tunes melody into WAV format and put them into this thing it will convert to midi format! so no more requesting midis just make one yourself with this, it adds lots of high notes all over the place but they can be easily edited and then you have a key on melody,

http://mp3.about.com/gi/dynamic/off...5Fto%5Fmidi.htm

also mess with the settings eg senstivity, just remeber it will add loads of over random high notes so just edit these out, i could rip the synth line to silence tiesto mix, some sub melodys etc

celemony melodyne can do this too, which is a pro application...

you can even edit each note's pitch in the audio clip itself so you can change the melody without noticing its been edited... i once took simulated and made a whole new track out of it using its original instruments, just a different melody.

yes, just put your mp3 or original wav into your audio editor and cut out the breakdown melody or filter it out of the kick or something and it will make the midi, it will need editing after though

I didn't click the link, so I don't know if it is the same one. But I tried Amazing MIDI and I could only get ALMOST perfect results with an instruments that didn't sound too thick or complex.

so its really not useful for someone who wishes to rip a mel from a clip with a supersaw or anything typical trance then?
hmm...

tried to rip a track called what im dreaming now, and it sounded all like crap...

Yeah, it rips all the notes and harmonics also. Only way to make it work is deleting all the useless notes and leaving the ones you need, but that is too much work. It is easier to just listen to the song and record the notes using the keyboard. It would work with a single instrument that is not too rich in harmonics, you know...but that is pointless, hehe. =o)

I tried alot of these programs and most of them have ALOT of redundant information in the midi conversion. I don't know if there's any program that will ever be able to convert appropriately.

Posted by itsamemario on Jun-26-2005 15:34:

not yet at least... i found one program where you needed a sample of the instrument used as well as the sample of the melody, that was a kinda good idea, cus then it didnt have to bad conversion, but it didnt stick to the bpm etc, so it sucked anywayz...

Tried the program and according to me it's rather another wannabe program than anything else...

I'd still recommend WIDI Music Recognition above anything else for its excellent ease of use and interface on this matter.
