Hello! Top Gear !

Just want to know who The Stig is (Is it realy Damon Hill?)

'cause some say he sleeps upside down, like a bat...

Any BBC viewers? I love that show

That was the previous one, the black clothed stig.

Don't forget that his breath smells of magnesium.

Also I doubt it is damon hill because they got him onto the show to try and prove it wasn't him.

Found this on the TopGear website:

A former F1 driver in a reasonably-priced car

Global speculation about the identity of the Stig often leads people to believe he's Damon Hill. But could it be true? Does Damon sleep upside down like a bat? Is he afraid of bells? One thing for sure is Damon managed a superb lap time, 1.46.3, as you would expect. He won't be ranked on the power laps board, instead we are starting a new F1 section, for pro-drivers to battle it out. But is he the Stig? Who can say for sure...

well as far as i can gather from net reports the stig is generally Ben Collins, an F3 driver, but there are times when he cant do it and others step in Peter Dumbreck, some touring car driver, being the main one but with others such as Jason Plato and Damon Hill very occasionally too.

whether all that is tru or not i dont know but it all seems pretty plausable to me from what i have read.

I always imagined it being Nigel Mansell.

Looking at his body and the way his drives it must be Johnny Herbert. Especially because all guest drivers say he's very patient and friendly.

If it was Herbert something would be going wrong with the car all the time. He was the unluckiest F1 driver I have ever seen, the amount of car failure he had was ridiculous.

The only reason he was on it is because Davina pulled out at the last minute. They managed to get him at short notice.

I think that's coz he was already there Still reckon he's the Stig.

I've heard it is a number of different people too. Bearing in mind Perry McCarthy was fairly unknown I wouldn't be surprised if it was someone relatively unknown second time around.

Im from Canada, and we definatly dont get that type of program here. I have been downloading if for a few years now, but my dates are all out of whack.

When did Tiff leave the show and start "5th Gear"?

The show is great and all, but all the talking between segments gets on my nerves. Get to the cars, specs, and reviews already!

This week:

Jeremy gives his verdict on the BMW M5, while Richard and James try their hand at Russian roulette road testing. Meanwhile, the Megane Renaultsport 225, Vauxhall Astra VXR and Golf GTi fight it out to be crowned king of the hot hatches.
