nice setup but i wouldn't bought the efx when you're still a starter! be sure to concentrate on beatmatching and the flow of the set rather than playing on the effects! :-)

have fun! :-)

Posted by D Dubya on Jun-28-2005 16:10:

i agree to not even hook up the efx unit until you have beatmatching down. i have been djing for almost 3 years and my efx unit is hardly ever used

Is Milo a newb? or is he adding this to an existing set-up?

Posted by _-MIl0 on Jun-28-2005 16:45:

Ah sorry should of said im not new to this been mixing for something like 4 years on a pair of stantons str8-100's and a pair of cd players with a crappy beringer mixer. The efx is something iv been wanting to get to further develop my mixing skills

Posted by CosmoKid on Jun-28-2005 18:26:

when i played with Pole Folder a couple of weeks ago, he showed up with his brand new 909 (big brother to the 707). at first, i thought "what a primadona", and was a little pissed it was a 2 channel mixer.

but all i can say is WOW.

if the 707 is anything like the 909, you'll love that thing.

Posted by Cosmic Realm on Jun-28-2005 21:54:

nar, iv used them both... the 707 is like striped down to the bone basic... where about the 909 is like a fully loaded 2 channel 600

but im happy for you, i got my Technics not to long ago off e-bay as well... and i LOVE them and will NEVER look back...
have fun with your new toys

Posted by _-MIl0 on Jun-29-2005 17:11:

Yea the 707 is the cut down version of the 909 , basicly its without all the effects but the evx should make up for that and this way i can take my efx along with me when i play out instead of a whole new mixer.

I love my techs aswell, the only thing that anoys me is the %0 pitch i find it hard to beatmatch when the pitch is out by only a little bit but you cant change it.

Posted by Timski on Jul-02-2005 12:22:

I love my st.150's...

Once again to jump on the bandwagon very nice work with the new setup man... Its always uber exciting to get new gear... I cant wait to get my efx processor.

...Note the use of the words "effects processor" meaning i still havent decided between the kaos padd and the efx-1000...

Posted by Specimen303 on Jul-02-2005 12:55:

I love my mk5's. All the things I need in turntables. No more, no less.

Posted by _-MIl0 on Jul-03-2005 02:12:

Thanks for the feedback guys, actually i have time to change from Final Scratch to serato scratch live as i have to wait till they get a new shipment of efx's b4 they ship out, Would it work okay with my laptop the stats are as follows
Ibook 1.2 gh g4 256 ram 60 gigs memory

Posted by Psiweaver on Jul-03-2005 21:05:

Posted by Joost on Jul-04-2005 08:56:

I wish I were you.. I want that too..

Haha, I guess I have to work a little bit longer and save up. It's funny, my parents don't agree at all with me buying decks and all. But I don't care

Your show?

Haha

I guess nobody over at party107 knows that when the "sync" sounds like a horse is galloping all over your craptons...it's not good

Dude chill no need for stuff like that.

Posted by gorex on Jul-05-2005 21:49:

your setup looks very nice - good luck

Posted by dj chex on Jul-05-2005 22:34:

Considering how cheap ram is, you may wanna get a 512MB or 1GB stick of ram for your notebook. SSL isn't a memory hog like FS2, but having as much ram as possiable certainly helps. BTW, if you wanna stick w/ 256MB is should work ok still.
