Solar Stone - Release gets, well a re-release!

Was on the Solar Stone website for a lil bit now, but finally Bobina played the Vadim Zhukov remix today on Intuition...

Solarstone 'Release'

The Oakenfold favourite Release gets a long overdue re-rub this year courtesy of Zehavi & Rand and Vadim Zhukov.

thoughts?

I already gave my thoughts on this some time ago: doesn't matter how good the remixes are, they've lost some more loads of respect from me for trying to cash in on this, it REALLY should be left alone as it was.

agreed, some tunes are best left un touched.

Love Solarstone, and I love the Deep Blue label, but I honestly don't know the track by title, and I'm pretty sure I haven't heard the new remix.

Thumbs down

Pardon me but I do believe Solar Stone approached Zehavi & Rand to remix it......

I'm feeling the same way. They also lost a bunch of respect from me for turning two massive classics that they made from their Chilled Out Euphoria CD into two "cash-tunes." For example...

2nd Element - Underwaterfall = Solarstone - Like a Waterfall
Z2 - Intracity (Solar Stone Remix) = Young Parisians - Jump the Next Train

I still have respect for their past work, but their latest stuff has really, really let me down.

They're also re-releasing Solarstone vs Sirocco - Destination with remixes from Bobina and Duende. What the hell?

$$$$

i dont care for these released, none of the remixers are gonna make the tracks any better than they already are..

i spoke to Dmitry Almazov from Bobina 2 days ago and he told me that there will be NO Bobina remix of Destination..good move from them. they decided not to touch classics

what a big bag of bullshit. what do they call their remixes of Synaesthasia and Rank1 - Airwave?

Posted by Yoki on Jun-30-2005 13:20:

those remixes were very good imo

has/will Z2 - Intracity (solar stone 'soltice' mix) be released?

It was on their Chilled Out Euphoria album. It's older, so I doubt it will see a single pressing. I quite prefer the way the vocals are used in that track compared to Jump the Next Train.

Posted by hakudoshi on Aug-26-2005 02:25:

i hope it gets released somehow, and i agree on the vocals, they are used way better on Intracity.

boo hoo, they're ruining the classics..

geezus, get over it. personally i like some of the remakes that are being made of classic tunes. tasteful updates of classics are very welcome to my playlist. if you don't like it there is a simple solution.. don't friggin buy it! a bad remix doesn't change the original! the trance industry is hardly corupt with money grubbers; sure there a few labels trying to look for the next possible smash, but this is nothing compared to the american music industry. people are raping classics left and right.

and how much of a classic is Release anyway.

sometimes i think some of you just have a problem with people trying to make money. lol.

of course it's not a classic, it's fucking 2002. still, it's a very personal favourite of mine, and it disgusts me knowing it'll be turned into some bog standart "updated" track. i know it doesn't change the original, i realise it's a bit of a selfish atittude of mine, but still it really fucking pisses me off.

it's ok making a remake for personal use in the sets but DON'T release it.
