If you could pick one moment in dance music history...
...as the moment that defined you as a fan of electronica, what would it be?
For me, it was the breakdown in Paul Van Dyk's unreleased mix of "Klea - Tic Toc" during his Columbiahalle, 2002 set. I've been listening to EDM since 1998, but that thirty seconds put it all into perspective for me and made me realize what it was about dance music that I loved so much (and still love today).
The video for Prodigy - Breathe is what started it for me.
Speaking of "Klea - Tic Toc", is that version ever going to be released??
When I saw the TV commercial for Ray Munns' "Ray's House"! What a moment in dance music history!
The first time I heard the Mortal Combat song, I knew i liked that kind of music!!! But I really didn't get into trance until my friend gave me 'R&R' by BT. Ever since he gave me that album, I've been hooked!!!
Robin Albers' 'For Those Who Like To Groove' radio shows from '91 and '92 started it all for me. Made sure I could listen to those shows every week.
What really defined me as an EDM addict was my first massive (gabber) party in '96. Had been going to some smaller parties before, and thoroughly enjoyed it, but after my first massive I was truly hooked.
When I first hear the Born Slippy track on Trainspotting!

I could never forget listening to 'Art Of Noise - Moments In Love' in late 1980s as a young child over and over again. What a beautiful electronic tune. My favourite tune of all-time, actually. It got me forever addicted to electronic dance music.
And, hehe, also, hehe this tune ... Venus by Bananarama
Prodigy - Experience
\O/
when I was 10, I buy Daft Punk - Homework (in 1997). I don't stop to listen to EDM.

Probably 'Hackers'. I got the movie, loved it and especially loved the music. Then, got the soundtrack, got the artist albums, singles etc and it just went on from there. Must have been about 11 when i first got into it.
Fatboy Slim's 'Better Living Through Chemistry' and Daft Punk's 'Homework' would definately be other influences for me.
Hearing Jean Michel Jarre - Oxygen for the first time at 8, it blew me away (wich I find strange considering I was only 8).
Ajax Project - Ruffige is probably the tune that got me hooked on EDM though. Hearing it back in 1992 was amazing, especially since I knew it was Icelandic. Very inspiring for me.
Defaintly the breakdown to the signum mix of atb - till i come, June 1999 i think it was

You remember the Hampster Dace song? lol I'm serious...there was that and then the remix came out, made me expand my horizons, like Paul Van Dahl, ATB etc...
When I heard Trancemaster 3000 at my friend, particularly the track: Dito - Shadows [Original Mix], it was a magical moment. Can't forget when the silence came in, and the voice said "Shadows", it was so beautiful. I always wanted to borrow the cd from him. When I finally got it I was listening to the breakdown of System F feat. Armin Van Buuren - Exhale all the time.
Later I tried to buy more trance cd's, but I couldn't find any of them here, except the cd Club:Front 2002. I didn't know any of the names it had. And when the track: Nexus - Return From Flatliner (on cd2) hit the melody...
, Perkele! It was the best track I've ever heard. And still is.

when the video for Snap - Rhythm is a dancer came out

The buildup in robert miles - children.
EDM overall???
That's a tough one. I'll have to think about it.
I think it was in 97 or 98 when I heard Prodigy - Firestarter and ATB - 9 PM and Sash! - Ecuador and Sash! - Encore Un Fois. Those got me into trance
