The Simpsons.

The Simpsons is one of, if not the best show ever. imo

Along with Seinfeld, Curb your enthusiasm, The Sopranos.

The Simpsons used to be clever humour, now its sort of like Homer saying "Maybe if I shove my hand in this blender I can cure this itch"

Family Guy is the choice animated, probably Scrubs for best live-person comedy

True. The old episodes were about 1000x better to say the least.

The Simpsons is just painfiul to watch now. Season 17 is out in November, but I'm not holding out much hope. The blender sitation mentioned above is typical of how it is now.

The older episodes were incredibly subtle, quick-witted and appealed to adults and kids on different levels and incredibly clever.

The newer ones might not be as good as the older ones, but I don't think it'll ever become so bad I won't want to watch it. It's one of the greatest shows ever, and even if it does get really bad, the older ones will still make up for it.

i believe Simpsons rise to success was based on their style of humor that was both witty and satirical to normal every day of life. It takes a lot of get me off the computer, but i use to watch it every sunday night.
These days however, it's turned more of into a slapstick style humor. It's still popular, but it doesn't get my vote, nor do i think it gets the vote of other long time viewers.

family guy has taken over.

imo season 3 of family guy was pretty weak...the jokes moved in the same kind of direction as did the simpsons

haven't seen much of season 4 though

old simpsons is still great though

i heard that one of the writers didn't want to continue but they made him so he didnt do them properly, or is it just lack of ideas?

Animation wise, Fmaily Guy tops it, and Futurama in second, as both of these have a higher 'good episode' to 'number of episodes' ratio

Scrubs ROCKS!! Finished seasons 1-3 on my phone, moving on to season 4 next week

i heard groening wanted to end the simpsons a long time ago, but fox wouldn't let him..for obvious reasons
i think thats why he did futurama, where he could have more freedom, and he ended that before it went stale

i also heard that some of the writers left and their replacements were inadequate to say the least
