uhuh...I knew someone would do this to my favourite Coldplay track.

But ya know ... This is pretty sweet! Nice job man! You didn't overdo it...it's simple and slick! I really like this one! That's all!

c'mon fellas...this one is a great listen! Mind you I'd have liked to hear the rest of the song done, but it's actually a great tune!

Immense mate, every part. Maybe the vocals could do with a turn up but that is just preference.

Cant fault this.

Hey I usually dont comment on remixes but this is pretty good, the overall mastering is very nice, all sounds are clean and strong, good work mate, loved the compression .
Kop =o.

This will probably work very well on the occasion you made this for!

Not my cup of tea though. Steve Porter mix all the way baby!

Huh? What honor are u talking about dude? I dont comment on remixes because usually I dont know the original song, and when u dont know the original u are missing alot to comment on the remix.
Kopi =o.

well its basically a pad, bass, kick, and hihat on top of the original. its alright but nothing very unique i dont think. you could spend more time on it. mike

You forgot the lead mate. But cheers.

Anyway, as I said in the original post, this track was made for a synth live-act, so it wasn't designed to be a finished release-standard remix. This means I had to keep it fairly simple with regards to the number of "elements" in it, otherwise it would be too hard to co-ordinate live, and I might not even have had enough MIDI tracks available on the sequencer.

I actually played the set last night, was an outdoor summer party and it turned out to be really awesome.

01. New Order - Blue Monday (Strachan Remix)
02. Matt Darey - Liberation (Strachan Remix)
03. Coldplay - Fix You (Strachan Remix)
04. Daniel Bedingfield - Gotta Get Thru This (Strachan Remix)
05. MK-S - Untitled (Strachan Remix)
06. Radiohead - Where I End & You Begin (Strachan Remix)
07. Fatal Omission - Untitled

Was fun. :P
If anyone's interested to hear any of the other remixes in that tracklist above, I can hook you up with a copy.

And getting back on topic, thanks for the feedback.

nice.....

very nicely done..... even though i am a massive coldplay fan.

.. could definately be the next 'call on me' with a bit of work..

-kee-

Posted by dannyc on Jul-18-2005 23:50:

yeah i disagree i dont think it needs anymore elements they all work perfectly. the kick and bass carry the tune on their own imo

yeah just turn up the vocal and you could do with turning up the lead also. could see this breaking into the charts and becoming a favourite with all the local commercial night clubs in cities.

also a extended club mix be nice with a nice trance like breakdown and build using some nice strings and the original vocal.
well done man good work

I never heard the original so these are fresh ears commenting on it. I like it. It's nice and simple. It just flows really well. I think if you added any more to it, it may have turned out cheezy. But the way you did it makes it sound like it was intended to be a dance tune.

Beautiful, nice work.

Posted by Signal2005 on Jul-22-2005 14:48:

wow

Dont let this track slide away into youre hard disk to be forgotten. This track is killer.I never heard the original tho what did u do.Just sampled the originals piano and vocals?

or did u do the piano work yourself if so its amazing.

But i gotta say this is a dance smash waiting to explode.I think we need a extended mix.I must have played this 30 times at a party the other night for some friends and they wanted to hear it more.

great track and i must say it blows call on me out of the water personally.

i dont think eric prydz could have done better. It just simple catchy and the vocals work so damn well with the 4/4 that it was meant to be remixed.

excellent and cheers make a longer cut and let us hear it and turn up the vocals a bit too

COL ON MEEEEEEE! COL ON ME!

Posted by Col on Jul-28-2005 15:21:

BUMP!

As requested by you guys, I've made a finished version. Both verses and the guitar bridge bit are in this now, I'm pretty happy with it! Tried to keep the "simple" feel it had before, despite adding a few new things, hope you like it.

Very good job with this song! Excellent tempo, it's beautiful, now make a club mix! And I shall fully praise you! lol

Is it me or is everyone remixing coldplay nowadays?
Yeah, he's got a pretty good voice.
