[REVIEW] Oakey @ Crobar 7.3.05
well all i can say about tonite is ABSOLUTELY FUCKING UNREAL!!!!!! oakey was on fire, he threw down bomb after bomb after bomb!!!
got to crobar at twelve and stayed until 4:45 when oakey was done. crobar was not packed so there was alot of room to dance which was nice, there was still alot of coked up asians bumpin into me which i hate but it could have been worse. Liquid Todd was warmin up the crowd and did a great job at it, he's such a cool guy he was all over the place when he was done spinning. Oakey came on at 1:30 and he absolutely blew my mind for the next 3 hours
i can't believe how good he played and the amazing tracks he brought out. i can't ID them now cause i will have to dig deep into my 1999 collection but he threw down some classics from 99' that i never thought i would hear again, like Y Traxx - Mysteryland
and alot of other stuff. i will try to post all the highlights of his set later... paul was really into his set and as soon as he got up to da decks he saw my cream shirt and got a huge smile on his face and kept pointing to me all night, it was awesome
he even signed my Another World and Creamfields CD's
i know all u guys were at Zabiela but Oakey was truly amazing, it was really good to se how much he was into his set and how good he fucking played, could be the start of something good for him
here are my pics:
BTW i have a couple videos so if anybody can host please PM me
Me n Liquid Todd (kissing my head)

and oh yeah, on my way out i jacked one of the ferry posters for next week
Good god... wow wow wow it was like fucking 1999!!!
I'm like one of the biggest EDM 'proghead' snobs on this website and I can honestly say that he was 10/10, well maybe 9/10 since he played Traffic
The only con is that I never got to see my guy Jay-Z...
Going to make a music discussion post about this set.
He was good? hmmmmm....

Let me tell you something about Liquid Todd i'm sure no one ever knew. Back in 1998 he had a cd released for tower records. I picked it up and heard some sweet tracks on it. I emailed him complimenting his mix and showed him some of my music. He emails me back with extremely rude comments and says he doesnt have the time for amateurs. If I ever see this guy i'm gunna knock him in the nads!!!
GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! I want it to go to this one,but went out to Montauk Point with my family and didnt get back home until 11:30 @night.Plus i was beat and couldnt keep my eyes open after driving for about 7 hours =(.Im glad you guys had a good time!Maybe i'll see you all at Ferry on friday!!!
Sounds like you had a great night - I would of liked to see it in person :-)
Maybe he was on a long trip for 6 years that he couldn't mix - he still needs a god damn haircut :-P
tracklist anyone?
I'm glad you caught him on a good night, a rare thing to say the least.
So anyone with ne other spots...

Oakey Rocks!
The night?
Excuse my extreme language but he was FUCKEN FUCKEN AWESOME.
I saw him way back in 2000 and loved him but right after he started to get into mainstreem pop culture I couldnt take his music anymore.
I was VERY hesistant to go see him but thought what the hell - and thank GOD I DID! My all time fav CD is TWo yrs of oaken at Cream....and thats the kinda shit he played.
Truly amazing one of the greatest Dj's EVER! Brings back sweet memories! I hope Oakenfold doesnt Change his style again.

He was awesome but he played Traffic? I want to give him the benefit of the doubt but the last time at Trancegiving he spun a lot of "greatest hits" too but anytime Traffic is thrown in there I have to doubt.
But who knows, maybe he did time warp a bit or put down the coke for a night.
