Anyone spin day?

I was wondering if anyone has a offical spin day where they play every single track in their collection. Or at least a hefty chunk of your vinyl. I take 1 day out of the month and do this and I scramble them and play what ever is in order and try to make the best of the mix. It runs me around 9 hours, but i just buy 2 cases of redbull.

Sounds like a fun idea to me, but it would take me way too long, others even longer. Haven't started playing out yet, but I find the best times for me are the long mix sessions with my friends. Can't play all my records, but I get a chance to play quite a few.

I do the same thing with some of my friends. We get together and setup usually 4 or more decks and each of us mixes two tracks, than somebody else does their thing. Last time, my friend brought his fender strat and i decided to connect it to my SSL's mic in and scratch the guitar samples live. great fun. Once i get my monitors, I'll try to get something going.

every day i randomly pick out some records and stick them on. Mainly looking for samples or loops or some other inspiration.
Not mixing as such just....listening.

That's a neat idea.

I just don't think I could ever do that by myself though. The longest I've ever mixed is about 3 hours. After that I started getting a little bored as I was by myself. Maybe with friends or a crowd I could go longer.

I do play a different set every day though. I just grab 13 tracks and mix, similar to like what you said...no programming or anything.

woops, i didnt' read the whole post. No i never listen to all of my tracks in one sitting. That will take months. But getting friends together and dicking around like my earlier post is better.

Only takes me a few hours to go through all my vinyl, when i do this i try to clean all my records aswell. Wont all that redbull give you a heart attack? If i had 2 cans or more id probly be shaking to much to cue and id make the needle jump all the time.

You sissy Once I drank about 14 cans of Red Bull before going on a schooltrip to France. We left at 7 AM. Everybody in the bus was like I was like

i'm suprised you didn't need any water afterwards...considering how much sugar red bull has!

With you on that one... not sure I could physically stay alive, let alone awake for the amount of time it would take. Unless ofcourse you were quick mixing, and I mean bloody quick.
