Paul Van Dyk
Ok, so I saw Paul van dyk in concert at the other night in los angeles and let me tell you, it was the most amazing set i've seen...Just everything about him was insane; his manerisms when he djed, he had an apple computer on stage with him which i have no clue what he was using for (unless it was used to find tracks on his computer to mix...) and i've been djing for 7 years...It was crazy seeing the number 2 dj in the world right in front of you...let me tell you with 25,000 people in front of you that's got to be a euphoric feeling...what my question is HOW THE HELL DO YOU BECOME THAT BIG NOW DAYS...I mean i think i'm pretty good at what I do...you can check out my dj site at http://www.magazinex.org/jamroom/bands/211/ but i have no idea how to find a promoter or representation or even where to look, can anyone give me any leads???

well if it's not spam... i agree on pvd's mannerism onstage. he looks so serious... professional i guess... i dunno you guys know what i'm talking about right?
re: your comment about the #2 DJ in the world, that's coming from a poll where most of the voters are obviously fooled by tiesto's brilliant marketing personnel. Paul van Dyk is the best DJ in the world as far as I'm concerned, with Armin close behind.

Don't kill me if I'm wrong, but didn't James Zabiela get exposure because of support from Sasha?
haha pedro from napoleon dynamite
i really wanted to go to this one but i was late and thought by 10-11 there would be no parking and i didnt know when paul played and how long he played. how were the other djs?
PVD live sets at open air venues like stadiums and festivals (NOT clubs) are usually 1 hr 30 min,,,he played from 1:30 til the end at 3, he finished the set off with Time of our lives, then for angel and the cherry on top was nothing but you. The cool thing about it was that he played all those 3 songs in like 6 minutes: he played only the best part of "time of our lives", the same with "for an angel (marc van linden mix)and "nothing but you", made everyone happy. I still think talent is the most important thing, is it a coincidence that the the most talented Djs have the best managment?

can't have been that amazing if he played Nothing But You and Time of our lives.
oh btw its not all about talents. if it all was about talents then we would have thousands of Tiestos running around. Since he is not talaneted at all when it comes to mixing :/
move to europe

This comment coming from someone with "AvB, Ferry Corsten, Tiesto" under the Fav DJ/Producer section in their profile. Good grief.

Sorry, what venue will you be spinning at this weekend? |
