Renaissance is one of the greatest mixes ever made.

The other two are pure crap, IMHO.

Easy. Renaissance.

I almost guarantee that you'll dislike it on the first listen. But it will very steadily reveal its greatness to you.

Posted by klappa on Jul-07-2005 05:51:

It depends if you like modern trance sounds or a bit proggy house but other than that it's a easy choice. Choose the Renaissance!!! It's a true classic mix from sasha&digweed back in the day. Don't even think of ASOT.

They all kinda suck, especially Renaissance. Well the music is better, but as a mix CD it blows alright, it blows big time. But what a coincidence...I went to the CD store today to and bought Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works '85-92, Modjo - Modjo, Technotronic/Jellybean - Back 2 Back, and Bad Boy Bill - Bangin' In London. I also bought new kickass $10 headphones which were my best purchase of the day.

Okay just buy Renaissance, it at least has marginally better music.

Renaissance: yes
ASOT 2005: never (I even gave that one away because it sucked so bad)

only get rennaisance if its the old version as the new updated version has a couple of tracks removed.

Posted by Plastick on Jul-07-2005 18:44:

It's all about Renaissance given my current taste of edm.

Don't listen to infidels, ASOT 2005 is a great mix CD.

His early mix CDs are actually pretty good if you're into the club house sound

Personally, I'd say ditch em all and get Hawtins Decks, EFX & 909, but if I had to choose it'd definitely be Renaissance. Magik 3 is also pretty much doable, ASOT's a poor excuse for a proper trance mix.

As you can see, 38 actually. Not half as mad as the "Straight up Detroit shit" ghetto tech / booty house mix CDs. Part 4, for example, has 99 tracks.

And yes, that's a 1 disc release. Damn.

find a site which give you the opportunity to pre-listen the cd and decide on your own..

If you like trance I don't know if Renaissance is the right choice.. I think it's similar to the global underground style which you may know..
