judge jules show.
well, saw judge jules last night. what a total waste of an
evening and money. his set was so boring and full of just utter
crap it defied belief. to make the night extra special every
gino in the greater toronto area seemed to be out in full force
with their shirt off being pompus asses. what a crummy night, for
those who didn't attend, i wish i was so lucky, and for those who
did attend, you can understand my pain.
Ah shitty...guess i'm not as upset for missing it anymore ...

smelled like my asshole, tasted like my asshole, it indeed was my asshole
jj's a geek, his music sucked and i fucking hate the guvernment crowd
RE: JJ
Although I had fun last night at Guv, I would have to agree that
the Judge does not compare to what Toronto has brought in this year.
He playing a few bangers, but they were full of fillers. Perhaps
he is not really my style (kind of anthemy), but I'm glad I got to find that out for myself. Strangely enough, he
played a lot of Tiesto-like tracks...although I like
Tiesto a lot, it just didn't sound the same.
It was nice to see all of the TAs there again. NRG2, FuZion, Pacco, Hansolo, JDammage, Vexen, Swamper, and I hope I didn't miss anyone else.
Mark Oliver was 10x better the JJ! I have to go and listen to him more
often...he hasn't disappointed me once with his sexy beats.

Well... i'm so glad i didn't waste my money on that!!!
hehe failsafe
how can you go to the smudge's show ?
that guy is a fucking loser, doesn't know how to mix and has absolutely no talent at all. All he does is play re-processed cheese!
I think the best crowds are @ System Soundbar (where no one is allowed to take his bloody gino-ass top off)
& FTWK Wednesday's @ Tonic are not bad
So as Element.. hehehehe
It's a shame that Toronto has such a superficial scene
WOW, i actually like the Judge, but by reading these reviews it looks like i really didn't miss anything....
So it was just another penis festival? or were there actually some women there?
There were some women there but not many...
As for this set, I never really cared for his mixing much other than on one or 2 rare occasions so I didn't go in there expecting to be 'wow'ed by that... There were at least 4 or 5 tracks he played that were top notch, I give him some credit for that...
The start of his set and towards the middle was good... but after that it just got shit... There were some cheesy tracks in there that could put me to sleep, but the harder bangin' ones that he did play were good.
And yes, he does look nerdish.
yo yo
yup...have to agree that it wasn't the best music i've heard......
as swamper said.....there were some gr8 tracks.......
oliver is playin some sexy shyte....but I find trance trance the most sexy
some of JJ's shit really fukin bored me half to death........he's a nerd for sure.....hey but nerdage is okay 2.....
overall......don't think he read the crowd all that well.....n e ways.....had a great time notwithstanding.......
beginning of set was good, and middle.....agreed on that....
by the end of it.....the remnants of the crowd I have to say were solid.....and kewl peeps.....there will always be ginos....I don't care either way....cause when I'm dancin....they move out my way
nice to c u TA's.....swampster..shmackster....waxenster..............and (SIR "hansolo" true hard core as usual)
pacster...time2burnster.....and all those whose names I missed.....
I'm not that sorry about it....cause I remember the faces foreva.......
peace

AAAHhhhh, all I wanted was some good trance beats that crappy jules spun at Trance energy, but no.
To bad for hansolo no trance to tickle my balls. Some good beats and I did dance my ass off, but I WANT TRANCE 24/7.
I enjoyed the people last night, ginos just make me laugh. One of them who I know actually said the music sucked cause it was not trancey enough, not enough love in the judge jules poo on the wheels of steel set(jd). So they are not all so stupid.
Much love to the TA's, swamper, schmacks, da2nsman (drink for a dismel performance), JDamage (kept me hardcore, respect and love for that), paco (my little spanish friend), Nrg2infit (very nice to chill with you and big MO), and the pretty girls that were nice enough to have a conversation rather than stick their noses in the air.
"I pray, may smirnoff bring some sweet trance my way"

My first show
To be honest, this was my first real 'rave'. I'm actually new to the scene, though I've been a hardcore trance freak for the past three years now.
I don't know what some meant by Jules stinking it up, but I had a great time. I think the crowd went absolutely nuts when he put 4 Strings - Into the Night and Taiko - Silence in there. It was great to see some people recognizing the tracks, as I had feared just a 20 something crowd who wanted to go clubbing (i.e. the ginos).
I had NO idea who the T.A.s were, hehe... I'd like to meet some of you guys -- you seem to be highly interesting people.. at least better than those arrogant and sweaty ginos who smelled like shit.
Anyhow, I must say that Judge Jules didn't play a lot of cheese -- not as much as I had expected from what I've read anyway. Perhaps Tukan - Light A Rainbow could be regarded as cheese, but it didn't matter as the crowd was going insane with the lighting effects. BTW does anyone know what remix it was?
Cheers
welcome to the scene......just want to clarify something.......tukan-light a rainbow....is the furthest thing from cheese....I have it on vinyl...........and the remix i have....is fukin solid man......anyways....i guess the vocals are on the uplifting side...love love.....what's wrong wit that.......
n e ways...glad you had fun last night
peace

...As I was saying to someone that night "This song sooooooooo reminds me of Phaze -- and I miss him"

JUdGE JULES!!!!!!!!!!
MM im very disapointed to hear all this badmouthing of jules' set.. personally i think it was totally amazing. The only thing i have to complain about is the guvernment sound system and the 90 % of the crowed who didnt even know who judge jules was.
U guys say he didnt play a hyped up set?.. that maybee true but i saw that he did give a good effort.. but the crowd just didnt really get into it.
Also about the sound system.. was it on low volume or what?.. man i could easily talk 2 people in a low tone and they would hear me.. that really dulled down the set i think. When i stood up at the front to see jules play .. i could barely hear what he was playing.. theres another reason onto why it may have sucked..
Honestly.. Jules' set blew me away to a certain extent.. my only regret with direct relation to the dj himself is that he played an extremely short set.. but i managed to have as much fun as i could in that short period of time and i have no regrets for travelling 5 hours down from ottawa just to go see him and come back!
It was great to see all you tranceaddicts there, Swamper, Paula, Hansolo JDamage. You guys i had a great time. As well my friend Mo and his GF caroline.. it was great to see you guys really get into it. It was funny.. at one point i think it was during "Back to earth" , Jules would cut the volume on the track then Mo would blow his whistle... This went on for a good 2 or three times untill the dumb security guard told him to stop it.. hehe for a while i thought i was in trance energy but then again.. The guvernment is not really filled with people who are their for the music.. but more with people who just want to pick up girls/ guys get drunk and laid.. not really a good environment to simply enjoy the music and dance your ass off without being bugged by someone.. shitty p000 :P
PAULA YOUR A Great dancer
.. it was fun being dancing up there with you when jules played 4 strings into the night
Swamper it was great to see you busting a move on the other side of the guvernment taking over another platform .. 10 in 01 BABY!
MO ! canned and unable!!!!!!!!!!!! IT WAS NUTZ!
I HONESTLY think that Jules' set was totally kick ass his set reminded me of a mixture between homelands and trance energy.
Tracks he played:
Tukan - light a rainbow (whippenburg mix)
Yves deruyter - back to earth (rave mix)
BRAIN BUG NIGHTMARE!
Mauro picotto - AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
Mauro picotto - Baguette
4 strings - into the night
HI gate - CANED and Unable
Members of Mayday 10 in 01
and also i think he played the new picotto track Charm
but im still not to sure about it..
The set was totally kick ass but really short.. It was great to see all you guys busting a move up on stage (swamper, paula , Mo and solo!) It was great to be above the lame ass crowed and to be submerged in awesome music..
It was also great to see judge jules doing alot of active djaying.. Especially with his trance energy trick with back to earth and his martin luther king vocals to a certain song from homelands which i dont remember.
HE PLAYED NIGHTMARE by brainbug.. which was totally unexpected! such a classic track.. that is soo good it was incredible!
BUt all in all it was worth my trip down and i had a good time.. IT was great too see those of you who came there! FOR those of you who said it was sucky.. take a look at the tracklistings again.. and compare it to his other sets.. it may have been short.. BUT IT WAS SOO SWEET
take a look at the crowed and the sound system that night.. that may have dulled down the experience.. but I somehow found a way to see beyond all that and what i saw was a totally AMAZING SET
Jules i wish you played longer.. but i have no regrets!!!!!!!
"I WANT YOu tO JUMP JUMP JUMP JUMP JUMP SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAM"

Yo..
"welcome to the un-scene of 2002, you just went to a commericial club event.. sorry"
It's okay...don't be sorry. I had a great time and the most important thing is, this is the first time I've seen the Guvernment play something other than hip hop and reggae.
I don't care how commercialised the event was, but as long as me and my boys enjoyed it, it's fine with me.
Cheers
Thing about Wed was that I think I missed a bit the rising action.
But really being that it was a commercialized event I went with pure intentions of hearing the standered beats that I heard at Tiesto, AVB, and pretty much what jules did @ trance energy. I think my narrow mind, was just waiting and anticipating rather than listening to the set. The beats he played were not commercial enough for the cheese I had aptly prepared myself for. And those beats were definetly good, but not good enough to "send me into space"(there is some cheese for ya.)
If anyone in here has a kick ass fast car that they drive slow, then your in the same category as the guv and the sound system on wednesday. Kick ass sound system at a low volume is a fucking travesty of justice.
oh yeah, i did enjoy the nsync dance by leslie and summer, two very cool trance girls, but not tranceaddicts.
i liked a few of his songs but he was wayyyy too progressive for me!
I expected the trance energy set i began to love two weeks ago.

well...it's cool to see that some other people enjoyed judge jules too. I only recently got into trance too so and this was only my third party..tiesto and state were my first two..so maybe being a newbie makes you less critical. I thought it was a great party and I had a great time. I would have to say that it didn't blow me away like the other parties but the lights were really cool, and the sound was good if you were in the right place. The whole perimeter of the guvernment had barely the quality of the sound that the center of the place did...so it you want to be up close to check out the dj, it sounds like crap. The crowd was definitely saturated with the gino-type clubbers..all these macho type dudes with no shirts and getting all aggressive..what's with that?
It's cool to know that there's alot of people out there that are into the music and simply having a great time
I hope to go to smirnoff experience and maybe meet some of you tranceaddicts. I've been reading alot of these forum messages and you all seem really cool.
does not sound like I missed to much, oh well!
