Alrighty, its that time of the week again. This weeks set features diva vocals, funky beats and sassy trumpets. As usual, click the link below, and download at your lesire. Enjoy, and I look forward to your feedback!

12. Archie Shepp & Mondo Grosso - Blues for Brother George Jackson (Mondo Grosso Next Wave Extended Mix)

I have to admit, this was a hard set to mix, and took me several days before I was happy with the result. It was new ground for me to cover, but in the end, I really liked it. American Jazz is a very rich musical heritage, and I look forward to delving deeper into it during the next few months.

As far as the set goes, we start with a funky electronic piece by the Atwater Syndicate, Anti-Matter. Things start to warm up with diva vocals before we hear our first horns in Sax at Midnight. Such a seductive and yet playful instrument. The jazz heats up with Midnight Horns, and Get Down before we hit the peak of the Jazz: Taboo Jazz. Such a great piece, I couldnt wait until I had a set for it. Things cool down with the ever classic Music & Wine before the slick Miguel Migs remix of Be Strong 4 Me. I then dabble in a bit of latin house (listen for the trumpets!) before I finish off the set with the Verve classic Blues for Brother George Jackson. Monda Grosso did a great job preserving the essence of the piece while adding something new to it.

Theres so much more I could say about this set, but instead, grab a cool drink, a nice drink, some pleasant company and put this set on. Its perfect for the warmer summer evenings. Enjoy, and I look forward to your feedback! Thanks!
