airbiscuit - lately
FC - sublime (thrillseekers remix)

encore of: corderoy - sweetest dreams (FC remix)

that first hour was sick as he just played track after track of classic stuff... had the crowd going, then he never ever let up the energy until about 7, 7:15 when he finally did finish. played some sick techtrance around 5:30 til 6:15 or so.

serge devant did a fantastic job getting everyone to put on their dancing shoes early. solid solid night. and i got in for only 20$!!

thanks bradley rose! and thanks to that dude at the front of the line that tells everyone that all guestlists are closed at 1 am... there was absolutely no line at the TVs, and i made a beeline for the guestlist people as soon as i got past him. guestlists were still open

goddamn this was so much better than armin last month... i still can't get over the fact that ferry played about 6 hours...

who'd i see?
dirilecht (spelling, real name colin) was on the line with me, all the way from baltimore. saw variableS outside, lyss, drew, colibri, member of x, vernon, hitokiri made it, meredith, joey, dan, blitz, vtec, bree, kidnyce (we have WAY too many brians on the board), big mike, sveta... damn huge huge TA turnout tonight.

Niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, Ferry always brings it

Posted by trunks1022 on Jul-09-2005 17:42:

hm ok, he pretty much played most tracks off of

passport - kingdom of the netherlands

I had a great time. This is by far Ferry's best set in New York. I hope he gets a residency at Crobar. Unlike Tiesto and Armin, he didn't play any filler tracks. Ferry kept the pace up all night. Can anybody tell me that female vocal track during one of those dancing shows? It was massive, my fav of the night. I think it had a huge build up. As for the dancers, I liked that brunette who was dancing at the left side of the stage for a while.

oh god, one of the best nights ever in my life. Fery has never failed me at all, and last night in my opinion just had to be his best night I've ever experienced. (nyc wise) he really kept that energy up all night from the time I got in till about 6 when I left. god damn, I'm still in that "shock & awe" feel.. great set. Goureyella seemed better than ever in my life last night. hahaha

Posted by pvd420 on Jul-09-2005 18:21:

i wont crap all over everyone's opinions because we are all entitled to them but wasnt there anyone there last night who thought he sucked big time?

by the time 5 am rolled around and he started to play some decent stuff i was so fed up with the set i couldnt get into it. i tried to stick it out as long as i can but i couldnt take it anymore by 6. this is how my time at his avalon set last fall ended up going. the first impression i got of him last february at avalon had me so excited for these past 2 gigs and i was so disappointed with both of them...

if i wanted to hear slow boring stuff i could sit at home and listen to music. his avalon show from last feb was perfect...mostly trancy stuff at a really up tempo pace with only an hour or so of the tech crap that slows a set down.

i mean how many times is he going to play rock your body rock...the crowd got more excited for that than they did for ligaya... that right there is a telling fact about the majority of the people who go out to shows these days

again it is my opinion but a show should be full of energy and have the entire crowd moving...the time i was there last night with a few (and i mean few) exceptions i only saw 1/3 of the crowd at best into it and dancing.

someone please tell me i'm not crazy. i've listened to trance long enough to know what's good and i just couldnt say that about last night or last fall. armin at spirit last month was so much better...at least he had a whole lot of energy in his set

just my 2 cents...wish i had had a better time

This has nothing to do with Ferry, but...

Never again.

That is all.

The first hour, Ferry had my legs cramping... and then the final hour he crippled me for life.

What an amazing nite. The highlight for me was Air for Life and Tenshi

For those that didn't stuck around till the end... Ferry confirmed the rumors that he'll be starting a 6 month, monthly residency after October....

Hopefully God will let me live by then.

Well I'm a pretty harsh critic of trance parties and I really have specific tastes in music that I want to hear. I've been to Armin @ Spirit and Johan @ Avalon this summer, and I thought both events were 'okay' but the Dj's def did not blow me away. I've also seen A&B, Robert Nickson, Lange and others live and it's been alright but nothing spectacular.

Well ... did Ferry blow me the fuck AWAY. I didn't know I could dance like that for 6+ hours! He came out at 1:15am and opened the set with Ferry vs Thrillseekers - Sublime (Thrillseekers Remix). WOW! And from then on, I was off flying in the emotional, melodic trance that Ferry spun for most of the night until 7:20am. Now, I do admit some moments in the set were not my taste, esp. when he got into some of the harder, techier, non-melodic stuff ... but he'd always return back to melodies in a flash, and that's what I LOVED about the night.

Then he finally played the last song in the set at around 6:50am, after which we all started cheering him on. And on..and on... Until he yells out: "one more?????" And then I just hear the piano of Veracoche - Carte Blanche. How fucking perfect is that?? By this time the club lights were on and you could see everybody, but nobody gave a fuck, we just all danced to Ferry's classic. After that, he drops another stormer - Cordery - Sweetest Dreams. Seriously, how can you not love this Dj after such dedication and gratuity: he spins for 6 hours, and then gives us a few last amazing classics after we ask for them.

He has such a great attitude too, and you can tell he appreciates all his fans. Throughout the set, he would reach out from behind the decks down to where people would try to hand him different things to sign or read. You didn't even have to be on the stage or backstage or anything ... just had to come up close enough on the floor and reach out to Ferry, and he didn't IGNORE you. He shook my hand and signed my t-shirt too! w00t!!

All in all, what a wonderful and refreshing experience - and I finally believe that amazing trance Dj's still exist. Met a bunch of TA's too - Big Mike, Sveta, Sunshine79, mango, verndogs, sidml, phoenixBEBE and others whose name I prolly forgot =)

Stan.

it was a great night...i liked the set that ferry played...but it wasn't even close to the one PVD dropped...still i had a blast until few things killed my vibe (it wasn't ferry at all - he was great) and i couldn't get back into it anymore, left few minutes after 5...i have this one tune that's stuck in my head but can't remember the name and it was the highlight of the night for me hehe

and bradley's guest list rules...thanks
