Festivus 3.1, July 23 in Battery Park

FESTIVUS 3.1
presented by the Electronic Music Umbrella(EMU)

Saturday July 23rd
2:30pm-8:30pm
at the Great Lawn of BATTERY PARK

Come down and enjoy the sun, the outdoors, andamazing music provided by some of the best dj's out. Share in the Festivus spirit...it is an incredible experience.

This is an experience for all to enjoy...clubbers, artists, little kids, parents, anyone!

We all come together to just enjoy and celebrate the music.

DJ Lineup will be announced in the next day or two

at 2pm to start the day off we will have a special performance by a true Taiko Drum Group(www.manhattantaiko.com)

after that at 2:30....let the beats begin!

EMU Statement:
Electronic Music Umbrella (EMU) is a non-profit arts organization dedicated to promoting the talent of local artists and musicians. Sponsored by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC), EMU hosts free public festivals in New York City parks and other public spaces. The events create a community space for the general public to appreciate the emerging artistic and musical movements in New York City.

Unlike Summer Stage, for example, EMU does not represent already established, internationally recognized musicians. EMU champions the, as yet, uknown artists of New York city. We promote the flavor of New York in the passions of its undiscovered artists.

Blossoming spontaneously from urban grassroots, EMU has hosted three very successful events over the past two years. And with ongoing support from the community and from arts foundations, EMU will continue creating public spaces for New Yorkers to participate in the dance of their soul.

**As always we are asking for volunteers for this event. It is a free event and the organizers put tens of hours of work into it...we cannot pull it off the day of without ppl to help us set up, break down, clean up etc...
please let us know if you can help...
If we get enough help and everything works out, then we will hopefully be able to have a 4th year of Festivus **

no one should skip this! it's an awesome event. i went last year and had SO MUCH fun!

Sounds great, day after Desyn Masielo though, so doubtful that I will make it. Me = lightweight, one night of partying and I'm out cold for the weekend
