HappyHappy Zabiela at Soundbar last night

ABSOLUTELY SICK!!
First I'll say that Damian Lazarus was very good. He layed down some wicked tracks including Andr Kraml - Safari (James Holden Remix) that I'd been dying to hear. I didnt get there till 12:40, so I must have missed Mazi.

Then JZ came on and tore it up from the start with Solid Groove - This is Sick. Love that track. The rest of the set was filled with so many wicked basslines, effects, vocals, and all kinds of stuff. He was appearantly running ableton off a little mac laptop along with all the other mixers, cdj's and stuff. All those inputs created amazing output!
I enjoyed this set more than his last time at Soundbar. I guess he made up for what he called an average show last time with last nights set.

I managed to sneak in a few vids and pics with my low battery camera. I took the first video and then the damn low battery signal went on. I thought it was fresh because my other one was dead. Anyway they'll be up at www.hansgruber.com/zabiela

Anyone else go? And if anyone has any pics or vids that they need hosted from last night, I'd be more than happy to host them. Just let me know

i also went to see zabiela after the mess that was trois (meaning that the drinks at trois were so strong that after 3 of them i was walking funny). sorry i missed you tom, but i was not seeing straight when i got to sound bar, much less even when i left around 4 am.

got there around 11:30 or so to catch damian - who had a very solid set - liked the beats that he was throwing down, but then james came on and tore the shit up! he brought it up that one notch and the madness ensued. i haven't seen james in about 2+ years (he seems to always come when i'm busy/out of town/or just plain tired), so i was really looking forward to seeing him and he did not disappoint. the place was going nuts during his set. i can't id tunes, but he brought his brand of electro/telectro goodness.

ps - i think i almost had a seizure when i first got to sound bar with those white flashing lights

must've missed you last night. then again, maybe its cuz i was stuck in my own world and pretty much danced all night in one spot

incredible night! didn't real dig the party at the Tavern Club, so i'm glad soundbar was able make up for it. Got in around 115 and Damian Lazarus was tearing it up. JZ's set had me going from beginning to end. two more tracks to add to the list: A Studio - S.O.S. (loved it! :crazy and blue monday. i gotta agree this set was much better than a few months ago. possibly my best night at soundbar so far this year. tons of room to move, a great crowd, and sick music.

Ya I didnt roam around much at all either. I was there with my gf and we were mostly on the right side of the club. Those strobe lights made me feel like we were in a haunted house at times.

Also he played that track with the Star Wars samples/vocals in it. "Help me Obi-Wan" and when Darth Sidious says "Rise" at the end of Ep. 3. That track was goooood!

Ha, what a late response..but I have no internet at my current apt. So i had to run to the library to catch some new shit that's going on in the world

I was wondering what you are were saying about JZ's set.... You all said it right: it was a sick night...

I remember we were gettin a little funny at the Tavern... interesting place...but...where was the atmosphere? It was all good because everyone made it what they made it...and it turned to not be half as bad.... I wish I had known more ppl, but i was happy I brought a few of my friends to show another part of Chicago ... Drinks were definitely strong; we had glasses of blue Alize and I definitely felt funny after a few of those drinks... So then after a bottle or so we left....I have no idea what time it was but we took a cab to sound-bar...after waiting in line for a few minutes we walked right before Zabiela started.... I was excited what he was going to bring....the crowdsize was good...a lot of room to dance..... and then Zabiela tore it UP... I was excited because my buddies had never experienced anything like this night and it made me happy to show them what the term ''clubbing'' actually has in the Chicago night scene... It was the first time I saw him spin but I know that I will definitely see him more often

Ctprincess, thank you for informing me about this highly interesting night

Cheers eveyrone,

Spliph

Np - but you should really be thanking relode and PURE for the parties

glad you had a good time - and i have to agree with you about trois - there wasn't a lot of atmosphere, but i think most ppl had a good time just hanging out with friends at a different place than sound bar, vision, moonshine etc. and yes - the drinks were really, really strong - i wasn't seeing straight after only 3 drinks!

I know this is way late, but, fyi, the track playing during the video you have called "134_3446.AVI" is Hugg & Pepp - Snabeln.
