You could start by buying a harddrive

maybe a bit more RAM memory if you use a lot of software samplers (kontakt/atmosphere etc etc).

A better/faster processor would be nice too, 2200 is doable if you install your system properly, I'm still not having any problems with my 2500+ processor.

And most important imo, a better sound card, low latency is nice, low price is even better. M-audio audiophile 2496 is the cheapest solution out there with great quality.

get some DDR and a sound card ???

but you didnt tell us how much money you were going to spend

yeah i would like to know what is the best and not the most expensive :P i was thinkg about buy sound card + midi keyboard instead of better proceor with mother board? or maybe its bad idea?

well if you have CPU speed problems, then you'd better get a more powerful CPU yes

a keyboard is not necessary to produce, but if you dont have enough power you are "limited" to a certain number of instruments or FX.

More RAM almost always makes a computer run faster.
Do you have good speakers?
You might want to get a SATA hdd if you don't have one yet. If you do have one, you could add two more and configure RAID 5. Hardware based RAID is best.

The epox 8rda doesn't have SATA connectors tho.

The cheapest noticeable performance upgrade would be to get an Socket A Athlon XP 3000. It's still compatible with that motherboard.
