it's awful, the normal version has so much energy in the guitar riffs, oakeys mix doesn't catch it at all.

Best muse =

Stockholm Syndrome
Time is Running Out
Hysteria
New born
Bliss
plug in baby
endlessly
space dementia

And if anyone can, get a concert dvd, voted best live band for 2 or 3 years in a row, and if you see them on it, then rightfully so

Posted by Elior on Jul-13-2005 12:22:

oh, good, just the thread I was looking for

Muse - Feeling Good, great tune.
anyone know if it got a remix though? my brother once sent me a tune called K.I.D - A New Day, which samples the 'Feeling Good' tune, but couldn't find any info on it.

Don't like them. Trying too hard.

Posted by Quantized on Jul-13-2005 12:45:

Yeh, i love muse, especially the albums 'origin of symmetry' and 'showbizz'. Realy love some of the piano bits in a lot of the songs. I've seen them live as well and they put on an amazing show.

To do what ? they're both original & gifted. Then again you're the guy who knows everything about every music at 17 aren't you. I envy that.

Posted by Sand Leaper on Jul-13-2005 13:22:

I cannot stand Matthew Bellamy's voice. It's so pompous, overblown and OTT that it overshadows the band's other qualities.

They may be original and may just be gifted, but they don't make very good prog rock. They try too hard to be seen as innovators when ultimately they simply resort to using the distortion pedal too much, and when they go to do something simple and hard rocking, they just put too much effort in and don't achieve the required sound.

The way Muse present themselves, and the music they make simply don't tie together.

EDIT: Oh, and I don't know everything about music, but I do know that Muse won't ever go down in history as anything special.

Matt Bellamy has a better voice than the lead singers of oasis, coldplay, travis, radiohead and many many more put together. Have you ever seen the Hullaballoo tour dvd ? it's magical, he has a great range, is an amazingly talented guitarist & their songs are special. Just because not everyone loves them, they'll still go down in my head as one of the best

Yes, you see this is what we call a difference in opinion. Where as you find them to be a special band I find them to be Radiohead-lite, with the disadvantage that I never really liked Radiohead either.

And I've never mentioned his voice. Perhaps you meant to reply to Sand Leaper?
