20-something and Confused
So I'm 21 right now and I've been doing a lot of self-evaluation recently, and I'm finding that I'm at a crazy point in my life where I don't really know what I want or how to achieve my goals. Anyone else experiencing a semi-early-life crisis? ): It's really kind of hitting me hard tonite.
Yeah, there's a crisis around that age. It's a hard period. Just make good choices but don't think it's obligatory to make choices at this stage. Tons of people end up changing their minds after setting goals, and that's not a bad thing. Don't stress so much. Be confident.
My life is perfect, the multiverse if perfect. I just don't see it and imagine that I have huge problems and all that stuff. Oh well, I'm only martian.
I turn 21 next Tuesday. And my life is fubar as well. It comes with the age. Yay. Figure shit out.
Isn't that the theme of Dawson's Creek. Hahahah.
isn't that the cliche 20-something crisis? i think we all think about shit like that from time to time.. you know, who am i? what am i going to be? i guess you just gotta keep living your life the best you know how.
fuck thats ironic, i recently turned 18 and find myself in a similar frame of mind, ive got a job, not one that pays well but lack motivation to find a career or anything else of that matter...
however my goals for the rest of the year is to get a gf and a better paid job, maybe a place of my own too
thats not happening, maybe for the girl and job issue, but gettin a place of my own wont happen for sometime lalala...
Luckily I've not had that problem yet. I know exactly what I want to do with my life, and slowly it's happening. Although I still want to do more than I am, which is a bit frustrating.
Yeah, you're at a tough time. Don't stress it too much though. You really don't need to set goals and formulate grand plans right now. You're young, time more then anything else will tell you what you want and how to get it. You'll find that you will grow up a hell of a lot in the next 4-5 years. For the time being, let your instincts be your guide, following them will put you on the path that you trully want to be on. To quote Nitzsche "only through living by our passions are we trully human."
Don't worry about it too much now, you still have time. Give it 4 or 5 years, see where life takes you.
Oh myself...
You think you've got fucking problems, yeah sure... I mean I jump down the stairs from stress, am almost always said, just failed my exam, think all my friends hate me.. yeah sure I've got a shitty life..
At least I'm seeing it's all in my head and the mutliverse is perfect. I'm just making a fuzz about nothing and I don't really live on mars.
The infrastructure on venus is so much better.

glad i'm not the only one
I don't worry about it as much as most because I figure that there's no problem out there that music, beer, and/or duct tape can't fix.
At least, nothing I've run into, yet...
i've had the same problem for the past couple of years (i'm 21), being in college and trying to pick a major and all. after talking to several different people about where i should go and what i should do, i figured out that the only way i'm going to find out is by experiencing different things and finding what works. i think society nowadays push those in their late teens and early twenties to figure out what their going to do with their entire life too hard. don't stress it. i don't think that you really have to have a definite career or life path set out until you're at least 29 or 30. just experience as much as you can and see where it takes you. no worries man
Like...dude...is this song totally going through your heads at all times or something?
So open up your morning light
And say a little prayer for I
You know that if we are to stay alive
And see the peace in every eye
She had two babies
One was six months one was three
In the war of '44
Every telephone ring
Every heartbeat stinging
When she thought it was God calling her
Oh would her son grow to know his father
I don't want to wait
For our lives to be over
I want to know right now
What will it be?
I don't want to wait
For our lives to be over
Will it be yes or will it be sorry?
He showed up all wet
On the rainy front step
Wearing shrapnel in his skin
And the war he saw
Lives inside him still
It's so hard to be gentle and warm
The years passed by and now
He has granddaughters
I don't want to wait
For our lives to be over
I want to know right now
What will it be?
I don't want to wait
For our lives to be over
Will it be yes or will it be...
Oh so you look at me from across the room
You're wearing your anguish again
Believe me, I know the feeling
It sucks you into the jaws of anger
Oh, so dig a little more deeply into my life
All we have is this very moment
And I don't want to do what
His father and his father and his father did
I want to be here now
So open up your morning light
And say a little prayer for I
You know that if we are to stay alive
And see the peace in every eye
I don't want to wait
For our lives to be over
I want to know right now
What will it be?
I don't want to wait
For our lives to be over
Will it be yes or will it be...
I don't want to wait
For our lives to be over
I want to know right now
What will it be?
I don't want to wait
For our lives to be over
Will it be yes or will it be sorry?
So open up your morning light
And say a little prayer for I
You know that if we are to stay alive
And see the love in every eye
