Changing the keys of a track
If I want to change the key of a track, how would I go about doing that? I realize there is a sticky about this ontop, but didn't find anything about it.
uhh
pitch up or down?
if you are talking about digital tracks, go get ableton or cubase and download a pitch slide vst plug-in.
if you are talking about vinyl, then yes, use the little slider that says +8 - -8
I was hopping to not change the BPM.

you really have to change the pitch on the pitchslider atleast 3% from the original key when it's at zero pitch. or use keylook if you have that feature?
correction notice to above post:
the numark ttx does have master tempo or pitch lock. but like koolaide said, it sounds like "balls." i do not know what balls actually sound like, because mine dont talk. however if i had to guess i would say that balls sound alot like shit. so for a better analogy, it will sound like shit!

but I'll give it a try somtime and see how it sounds.
Can you change key for mps3's on a computer?
i have stanton str8-80s and for hip hop its does not sound bad it really depends on the song also ill go +12% and put the key correction and itll work pretty decently but sometimes will sound like and echo. Why do cd players have a better master tempo than the turntables though?
But using the key correction when you go into negative pitch sounds like balls and/or shit
