Any bedroom DJ contests anyone knows of ??
i've been searching for some bedroom DJ contests , and I haven't come across any lately..... Does any anyone know of any upcoming contests????
American Dj might be coming up with a djing contest soon, i'll let you know the details as it comes.
Top prize could very well be a free ticket to Atlanta City for the World DJ expo'05 with a chance to spin alongside DJ SKilz in his booth. We're still trying to work it out, so be patient. The other prizes are going to be free gear etc hopefully.
Here's one in Seattle. You send in a mix and then if it wins an initial judging you go to Seattle to spin in a club for additional judging.
Could be expensive for out-of-towners as you need to pay your own airfare etc.

Well, if you're just looking for bragging rights then there's the DJ Battles section of my forum and there's also the Battle section over at djforums.com
If you're looking for a little more, then here's some info for you.
1. Of course if you'd been on your toes you would have entered the contest right here on TA! LOL
2. http//:www.StarDJ.org is supposed to be doing a new contest. Don't have any deatils because it's a flash page that I can't view from work....sorry!
3. http://www.elite-trance.com is hosting a contest of their own. Not really giving away prizes or anything but still worth a look. Contest Info
This is just what I could find in about 30 minutes. I'll post more later!
Heineken Thirst. but that only depends on what country you're in.
http://thirst.heinekenmusic.com/
it's over a year long competition. 22 countries are selected, in which DJs sign up. 24 are selected from their inscriptions and interviewed, of which 12 are selected. they are divided into groups of 4 and battle it out on 3 events. the winners of these then go off to a semifinal, where 2 are selected. finally, in the national final, these 2 go off, and will be judged by 2 star DJs (in my case, it will be Sander K. and Roger Sanchez).
win your naitonal finald, and you get a CDJ1000Mk2, and EFX500R, and a couple more toys. you get garaunteed local bookings. and you go to the regional final.
the regional winner will get another 1000Mk2, a 909, regional bookings, etc. and he can compete in the global.
the global winner get's a DVJ1000, a DJM1000, some other goodies, international bookings, and gets to spin one night at Amnesia in Ibiza.
worth checking out, to say the least.

Dood is right, depends on your country. If you're in Canada, Heineken ain't doin the Thrist Comp. in Canada this year (don't ask me why, this is what I got told from them) but the world competition they got goin on looks sick!
Heineken switched over to doing a "promoter" competition this year in Canada I think. Teams of amateur promoters compete to put on the best club night.
I entered their competition last year, it was a blast. Contests, races etc are great ways to improve skills quickly.
