Taking breaks
I find that if i take long breaks from making music, when i get back my productions are better than before (i'm talking like a month break, not like a year or anything). Anyone else feel that it's a good thing to do once in a while?
Never tried it. Maybe I should
yeap i do that every time i feel that nothing's good coming out of it...i take a break..usually a couple of week to a month to enjoy other things before heading back down to production...
yep sometimes I'll go like a month or more and get back to it just because i miss it so much and have so much ideas coming out of my ass. I do this all the time when i'm in a rut.
I didn't notice that because I never stop!
Anyone ever have that "high" you get from trance start to wear off?
it's happening to me right now. so i might stop listening to trance/producing for ahwhile, already stopped producing since late june.
ive said it before, but thats my exact way i do all my music. i usually spend a long time on one track and then spend along time away from it. the way to really go though, and i garantee this works, is to stop listening to music for a couple weeks. or at least on a very little amount. my creativity goes through the roof when no outside influences get mixed in. i STRONGLY recommend it.
shit i cant even keep myself away for a day.. let alone a month. omggggg t'would be torture!
I do that a lot with spinning. If I dont spin for like two weeks or so, I come back and BAM, I'm nasty as hell. I think because when you do something every day you're TRYING to do it. When you give it a break, and you go back to it, your body's natural ability comes out more, you think less, and it just happens.
