A New Drug That Block HIV From Entering Human Cells (Article Inside)

The first major breakthrough in finding the cure for HIV/AIDS doesn't get much publicity in the Americas, though.

A durable new drug that prevents HIV from entering human cells and causes almost no side effects has been developed by a team of researchers at Kumamoto University.

The new drug, code named AK602, was reported by the research team's leader, Hiroaki Mitsuya, at the International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific in Kobe on Tuesday.

The drug's main feature is that it shuts out the AIDS virus at the point when it tries to intrude into a human cell.

Current AIDS medicines can lose their effectiveness in a few days when the virus changes and develops a resistance to those drugs. But AK602 is different because it reacts to human cells instead of attacking the virus, Mitsuya said.

He said the drug sticks to a protein called CCR5 that acts as an entrance into human cells for the AIDS virus. When the new drug becomes attached to the protein, it can prevent HIV from entering, and thus stop the virus from spreading.

The researchers conducted clinical tests on 40 AIDS patients in the United States.

AK602 not only proved effective against viruses that had become resistant to other drugs, but it also caused almost no side effects, the team said.

now there's two stories i've heard about HIV/AIDS/AIDSv2.0
1. It was created and spread by the CIA in the new york birdhouses to get rid of gay people. i forget the reason why they didnt like gays tho.
2. Aliens invented it to get rid of the human population.


now i heard this on Phil Hendrie, but the disease came from monkeys in africa. then some guy had sex with the monkey since it can only be transmitted sexually and came to new york and spread the disease on those birdhouses.

The theory is that the CIA developed it to get rid of african-americans (who were increasing their anger and militance, not gay people.

I haven't heard the aliens one.

Also, this story was covered in the Americas almost two years again, when the drug was under development. I have an old popular science (or other similar magazine) which covered it, noting that it was in testing stages.

and that monkey sex thing, he didnt have sex with a monkey. the story goes that he took part in a ritual where they eat raw monkey meat, dont know any more than that, though. probably trash, as well. the monkey sex thing is definately not true, though.

well the guy on the radio sounded very convincing considering it was a man and not a woman. he said there was a straight guy setting up highways in africa. he'd been away from his family for a bit and needed some loving, so he went to a monkey and the monkey with aids bit him in a sexual organ. then he went to new york and got curious with some gay sex and out came the outbreak.
