Review : Nick Warren & Mark Oliver - Guvernment - 07-16-05
Holy Crap !!!! Nick Warren Was Awesome
Fantastic times as usual. Got in around 2:30ish and Nick was ripping it up. His sets are always so solid and grooving. Had a great time dancing to the tunes. Saw Cor Fijneman and Mark Norman chilling at Guv lol thats was a nice surprise. Hung out with them 2 superstar Djs for a bit on the patio. Cor can dance
he was all over having a good time to the tunes.
Great to see all the Tas again. Jen u Dj wh0r3 u loooolz. Fahad d00d thnx for the ride and stuff. Met a new TA Paula. Great to meet u and hopefully will see you again.
Will write more later on today
the CO2 cannon is insane.
DAYUM...
Thank you, Espresso and Orko for hyping this up for me...and thank you Mom for giving me permission to go!
Wow...even though I didn't hear NW's full set, I will be a regular at his events. Very sweet style; I don't remember hearing a single classic epic trance song the way the Holy Trinity would play them but he has a very unique and cool track selection, and some of the stuff sounds as if he just makes it up himself! Very sweet!
I love the movie sound bites that he mixes into his songs!
Awesome night of meeting some more TAs! But before that, of course I have to send my love to Jenn, Tyler, John Tang (dude your name is gold...mention it to a person standing at the Guv entrance at 3 AM and he still lets me and Tyler in, no lineup!!! There were like 10 people waiting in line at 3 AM!!!), MaxTO, Orko (dude it was so nice to dance with you PROPPA!!! You gots da moves!
), MaxQ - NOW we be high-fiving eachother!
and Rodrico--for one second and that was it!
We gotta go for a drink and hang sometime, man!
Also nice to see Jenn's non TA friends, Chris and ?Robert? (sorry I forget your name...I'd also love to see that pic from Cherry beach he was talking about, Jenn!) Just got a txt msg from Jenn...party on GIRL she's still there
...I guess you guys will head to the beach after?
Good call! Me I gots to sleep if I want to be able to make it for DuMonde and then work right after!
Also so awesome to chill with Cor and Mark who were also partying it up after their night at Viva yesterday! LOL got more comments about my towel...those two are honestly the nicest foreign DJs I've ever met...of course the NICEST DJs title goes to our humble and super-awesome TOTA DJs
Tyler was telling me that he was hanging with them for a while partly because he felt bad that their promoter brought them here and ditched them!! It wasn't their promoter, dude, it was their DRIVER... BAD driver!!
How can you leave such friendly, stellar people like that? LOL I guess the guy wasn't in to the scene; can't blame him for that!
And the TAs I met for the first time:
Andy (Espresso) - dude can't stop thanking you for hooking me up with that Nick Warren set link...I love how that whole thing worked out!!! I was clueless, you taught me, and I just had to come...spontanaity RULES!
Scratch one from my "must meet" list, I finally met Baki (Trancechaos)!!! Dude, you were rocking it HARD on the stage!!!
Can't wait to party with you when your GOD hopefully pays us a visit!
btw
I heard PVD won't be here for LoL; Tyler (Trancegrooves) was telling me it's gonna be AVB, Blank&Jones, and Markus Schulz at KH and Digger and Deep Dish in Guv...or something like that...
Allegory, what a pleasant surprise just to randomly meet you and Mike!!! You're a sweety and keep up the awesome charitable initiatives that you guys do!
Also met a few other friends of Allegory (one was a TA who didn't post often she said, and had her sister with her; really nice people!
)
And finally, Paula001!!!! That was so cool how we met; I was outside on the patio looking for my peeps and this hot girl randomly call my name and says, "hey, Fahad, you're fayraree from tranceaddict, right?" And I'm like *thank my Lucky Charms!
* Was really nice to meet you girl...I hope you come out to more events so you can meet more of this awesome community. Don't know if you knew John (starsearcher) from before Tiesto, if you did: JOHN, IF YOU HAVE MORE HOT FRIENDS GET THEM ON TA ASAP--SHARE THE WEALTH!!!!
Polish girls ROCK!!!!!

Again, Paula, congrats on your graduation; good to see you out partying it up and celebrating; you deserve it! Have a safe trip back to Poland and hope you come out to LABOUR OF LOVE!!!!!!!!!
P.S. add me on MSN: [email protected] and I will give you lessons on how to be a postwhore!

Okay time to hit the sack peeps...hopefully see some of you at DUMONDE tomorrow...holy fuck what a weekend this has been

I'd have to agree that this was an amazing night! Nick Warren was incredible. not to mention the fact that it wasnt so crowded. plus, ive never seen so much fog at a club in my life. it was sooooooo fun!
woohoo
So as i was saying before that the music Nick played was off the hook. The guy has a tremendous amount of energy in his tunes and really knows how to keep the crowd moving. Guv was packed as usual and as said before, WTF was up with the CO2.
Couple of times i couldnt even see my hand in front of me. After Nick came on Mark Oliver....ummmm i didnt like the proggy stuff he played right after Nick cept for a couple of tunes. I was hoping he would drop some real hard tracks like i usually have heard him play before after a special guest Dj. But oh well it was still a great time.
Best part of the night was chilling out on the patio with Jen and her friends and then joined by Cor Fijneman and Mark Norman themselves. " Thanks Tyler for telling us about this event and the club " said Cor as they were leaving so i am hoping they had a good time there regardless of the heat the humidity and the stupid CO2 lolz. To all the TAs that were there Thank you guys again for a good night out. Hope to see you guys again either tonight at Dumonde or next weekend at either Max Graham or A&B. w000t w00000t
were there hard nipples as promised?
pics are up!!!

Definitely a solid night out.
too bad i didn't get to meet any ta's, i'm pretty sure it had something to do with the fact that i couldn't stop dancing. the fog was really cool, i've never seen that at the guv before.
I hope someone posts some pics of the night. I've go a few that i'll post soon.
doesn't look like anyone will be partying at the beach today, the weather is looking pretty miserable. does anyone know if there is a backup plan?
Fuck I wish I was there
Cor Fijneman was there? WOW! COOL
WOWOWOWOW
Nick threw it down, like only he could. I was soo amped to see the guy, and as soon as he came on, i was eternily thankful. There is just something about his sound, which gets to me.
I dont know if i have ever danced that hard for that long before. Every beat, every song, every transition, was just awsome, and struck a cord with me. I miss the music already.
Met some great TA's again, had a blast. John i finally got to meet you!
Partied on the stage for most of the night, sound was a little better than usual, but i attribute that to Warren's control over the volume. The fog was too cool, really just played with my head the entire night, the entire night is a blur now, but one happy blur. It wasnt very packed, and i expected for it to start clearing up a bit around 4-5 or so, but when i left at 530 it was still as busy at ever.
The crowd was awsome, really nice. Nobody pushed me, and when they bumped, they were really nice about it. Lots of friendly faces, and extended hands.
I got some vids and pics, hopefully i can find a place to host them for you guys.
WHAT A WICKED NIGHT!!!!
I really couldn't have asked for more..
Nick Warren and Mark Oliver.. holy hell.. there was a little bit of everything played last night.. trance/tech/house/prog... I was in my glory (well minus some of the prog of course
)
I was on my feet dancing most of the night away.. so much that my legs are actually sore today
I actually didn't leave the club until the lights came on and they were booting us all out.. I just wanted to keep on dancing
I also met some new TA's as well as seeing a few familiar faces
Fahad.. OMG.. it was soo good to see you out hun.. I honestly didn't think that you were gonna be making it... but as soon as I saw Tyler I was like where the hell is he? hahaha
Trancegrooves.. it was a pleasure as always hanging out with you and I am glad that you had a good time chillin with my friends too.. and thank you for introducing me to Cor Fijneman and Mark Norman.. dude..I was lovin it.. there were sooo cool to just chill with and talk to about everything!! I owe you
I couldn't ask for a better weekend... great dj's..great times and amazing friends.. you guys all rock!
Got there a lil earlier than expected...around 10:30ish and I was one of the first people in the door, in fact all I saw when I came in was maybe half a dozen party goers and 11 bouncers grouped together.
Didn't take too long for the TAs to start grouping together, and we eventually ended up on the stage, where I spent 90% of my night.
The music was great, as expected. The fog (at times being so thick that you can't see anything) was a nice touch, IMO. The sound on the stage was good, and I was able to leave with no ringing in the ears. The crowd was good overall, except for the small group of jacka$$es that were jumping around like morons and running into people near the front, and some dude that was so cracked out by 6am that he kept dropping his glowsticks every 30 seconds and ended up kicking me in the shin while doing some retarded dance.
Great to see all the TAs that showed up, many of you I hadn't seen in awhile.
The drive back was horrible. 1/2 way to Woodbine/Steeles on the DVP I see a car rolled over on it's right side in the ditch going the opposite way. I guess it had just happened, as there were no emergency vehicles in sight (or sound of them approaching) and a car had pulled over to flag down a tow truck. The road was covered with tons of water, and there were many areas where it was possible to hydroplane. Just as I got to Woodbine/Steeles exit, it started raining so hard (without any warning) that visibility was zero.
Luckily I got home without incident.
The rest of the day was followed by a pancake breakfast (thanks mom...hehe) a few movies and lots of sleep
mark on the allen and heath........wierrrrrd
Sounds like this was a really good party! I'll finally get to see Warren too soon
Its funny at about 530 i went on the patio at the guv, and said, hey its nice, and think ill go home now.
I leave, and it starts POUR!!!!!!!! I try and wait it out under a tree out front with some bumbs, and then decide, wtf, and i tried to run to Young to catch a bus. I was totally soaked! The bus didnt come for a while, and i was wet beyond belief. It was a sleepy/wet/cold bus ride home.
Max i should have grabed a ride with you, but i didnt know where you were, and i just felt like leaving at that point, but thanks for the offer.
Magikb, it was nice to meet you.

great night, great vibe and amazing music.
as promised NW didn't disappoint even 1 second.
it was boiling hot, but as mentioned the fog/nitrogen took care of that.
great to see new/old TAs (at one point we owned the stage, all TA represent lol) you guys are great to party with.
mr John T, your generousity is much appreciated as usual, hope to see you before you leave for suitland (lol).

Well I must say that the first hour and a half of Nick's set was okay... nothing special. He played some wicked tracks though, but it wasn't the Nick I was used to. But after that he got back into himself and was awesome!
... i just wish that whoever was on the friggin' train whistle all night would've stopped... TOTALLY ruined Nick's set. (There was a while after almost EVERY track that nick transitioned to that they would honk that friggin' thing... I've NEVER seen it so overused before. I mean, used even ONCE is overused in my opinion.
Ban the horn!
Anyway, enough about that. I had a great time in the sweltering heat with all y'all
Fayraree, yes guy -- we finally hi-fived lol! And MagikB -- great to see you as well! Nice little chat we had (it was you right? forgive me if I have the wrong TA name
)
