With the release of his album "Rude Boy" on May 17th (2004) and the following live & dj tour, Marco Bailey once again jumps ahead of the competition. Fifteen years of sacrifice and dedication have seen Belgian'snumber one dj break through the national borders to join the big league of worldwide techno artists. This didn't go unnoticed by leading man Carl Cox who asked him to sign onto his new label Intec Rec. Killer tracks on Primate, Zync and Tortured, confirmed his strong reputation as a producer over the last eight years. In return he set up MB Elektronics & MB Selektions to release quality music by the likes of Adam Beyer, David Carreta, Claude Young, Umek, Mark Broom and Ben Sims. In 2000, he joined forces with Spanish pride Cristian Varela to form Pornographic Recordings, a respected outlet for musicians as diverse as Tim Baker, Oxia, Tom Hades and Redhead. Marco Bailey's own productions frequently appear in the setlists of Carl Cox, Chris Liebing, Jeff Mills and Sven Vth,. But don't let the list of big names mislead you: although ambitious, he is a selfmade man with a mission to entertain people with the love of pure techno music. And that's exactly what he has been doing all these years: travelling from west to east back again, igniting dancefloors from Rio to Tokyo with his unique blend of underground sounds and funky techno. |
why thank you sir
negative thoughts.
Marco Bailey - Ghost in the head
Dj Rope & Marco Bailey - Be Free..

he has done some really banging dance floor friendly tracks that work excellent in alot of diverse sets. problem is, alot of his tracks seem to carry on the same kinda style every time, with some notable exceptions of course. i find he overuses alot of his samples too...alot of the tracks just end up sounding so similar. liked his album Rudeboy, esspecially the track Circuts. all in all, he's done some good stuff, mabye even some great stuff...but he just can't seem to keep me interested.
Negative as well.
The man is a true master of uninspired, loop-based techno crap. I saw him live, B2B with Christian Smith, at I Love Techno a few years ago, and it was laughable. Technically piss poor, and track selection-wise average at best.
Last year, B2B with Steve Rachmad at Awakenings Festival, set was slightly better, but still uninspiring.
As a (single) positive point, I believe his Scorpia track (on BXR) is considered a bit of a 'classic' (though it's from '96, so hardly classic at all).
Scorpia is a massive trancer. Very rough! :E

Marco Bailey - Sunbeam
Marco Bailey - Dreamswaves
Marco Bailey - Scorpia
Phutura - Florida 135
Phutura - Gitchi Manidoo
Phutura - Nightvision
