Okay this is just getting pathetic...I don't find our school system in particularly HARD and it seems to be deteriorating somewhat...regardless, all these latest ideas about "students being too stressed" or "there's too much work" and now THIS just makes me laugh my ass off

It helps them from becoming a panzy

Failing in school doesn't mean failing in life necessarily...

I see this turning already spoiled kids into even more whiney spoiled kids...and later in life when they DO fail in something they wouldn't know how to deal with it...failure is a part of life you can't be great at everything and you learn that at a younger age...you'll take it much harder if you learn that later in life IMO

Using flowery round-about language to cover up the general truth of the matter -- ie. if you failed or succeeded in completing an assignment or task or whut have you, does not help.

If the child failed miserby at the task, then he or she did. Hiding this reality form him or her, I feel, will only hinder them later on in life -- it's never gonna get easier on him or her. You gotta be able to accept and deal w/ the truth of things... w/o trying to disguise it.

If every other child rocked that assigned and only this one did poorly, then I see no reason why the child should not receive an F on the matter.

It's not so much that the word "fal" helps them later in life, it's the fact that "softening the world for them" or cradling them too much gives a false impression of the way the world acutally works. This, I feel, is not beneficial AT ALL.

Yes, you gotta learn how to deal with failure. Mommy and Daddy or whoever will not be around forever to help you out and bail you out.

Failture is a part of life and you learn from it and it can also motivate you -- this should not be hindden from children.

Dealing with failure is someone we all must learn to accept and move past. Grow from it, let it push you, let it give you insight -- reflect on it and use it to your advantage in the future.

We do the same thing though. There was a study done a couple years ago about how if you 'promote' someone's job title, while not necessarily increasing their salary, it increases their job satisfaction.

i.e.

Secretary - Administrative Assistant
Garbageman - Sanitary Engineer
