Talking "NOTICE YOUR EARS"... new tough funky techno mix (follow up to ThreeTechDeckno)

I've finally got around to doing the follow up to ThreeTechDeckno (which got quite a lot of support on here so thank you all for that )... similar kind of theme of chunky funky techno

Quite fun funky stuff getting tougher and more driving towards the end... with effects, sampling etc etc... all the usual technical tomfoolery

Oh and it contains the awesome track "3-2-1" by Pjotr G from these forums, which people who venture into the Production Promotion section will know all about

Stu Cox - 'Notice Your Ears'

These are fantastic. Is there anyway to get them? Please PM me if there is.

And as for the mix, again, absolutley quality. I took a listen to some of your other mixes too, and I think that your talent best shines through with techno as opposed to the other styles that you have attempted mixes of. Stick to techno.

Just had a quick skip through (just off out now), but i'll have a full listen later...

Your productions - very good, especially your remix of 'The Fruit' - if I had a CDJ, i'd pay you money for a copy of that Fucking brilliant

bangin' mix stu...

technical stuff is great, i dun think i could ever come up with some of that. altho i do feel the delayed stuff during Ilan Kriger - Abismo was a little much. just my opinion though. mixing was a little bit messy at parts in the first half, but i'm just nitpicking.

tracks that rocked:
nice job with the fruit, liked it. works well, simple but killer bassline.
dunno if the skoog track is new or old, (i haven't been keeping up for awhile) but that's a kickin' track.
first time hearing the pjotr track altho i've heard it mentioned plenty....and it most definitely deserves all that's been said about it. nice job mixing it too...worked great.
tomaz vs filterheadz was great too.

i enjoyed the 2nd half much more then the 1st, but then i've always liked the driving stuff more.

all 'n all...great job, great mix. i think i liked this mix better then the previous 3techdekno one.

Cheers for the feedback

Mikey Mike: Trance has always been my main genres tbh, techno came afterwards... really glad you like my techno mixes but I'm not likely to give up on trance soon, I'm currently delving into doing new things with it that some people like and some people don't but that's something I'm accepting - rather than just doing what everyone else does to fit in! Maybe I'll introduce my views on how tightly locked the trance scene is becoming in another thread

Binkun: A few people have commented on the echo on Abismo... it was supposed to be completely over the top, probably something that would work better in a club than on a demo, but maybe it was too much even for that!
As you say, my mixing is rough in a lot of places and it's something I need to focus on, alongwith setting my gains (something I used to do religiously but now tend to forget when I'm recording)

I've had pretty split feedback as to whether people prefer this one or the last one, surprising actually cos I was expecting absolutely everyone to prefer the last one!

So thank you for listening people

great mix, your reworks of armands remix of professional widow & buick projects remix of sander's the fruit was quite nice, especially the latter one. i was a bit dissapointed that you didn't actually mix into pjotr g's marvellous "3 2 1" but yes as you said in that thread, it is a creative way of mixing the track tho. nice use of effects altho the delay thing was way overkill, and that remix of nirvana at the end rocked.

edit, is it Generation Gap - Wired that samples Q Project - Champion Sound?

Posted by djms on Aug-25-2005 10:43:

e

this is one of the best mixes I've heard in ages, you've obvioulsy put a lot of work into this one m8, well done. If you could do that live I'd defo pay to come and see you play. funky techno at it's finest, well done!

Cheers, it was actually the Tom Novy mix of The Fruit I used.

I mixed out of 3-2-1, isn't that enough?

Originally I was going to mix into 3-2-1 in the same kind of way as I mixed out, by making a 3-beat loop of the previous track (as opposed to making a 2-beat loop of 3-2-1) then mixing into 3-2-1 from that, but I couldn't get the loop right at the time so I decided to do that instead lol... plus I quite liked the sound of the stutter over the top of 3-2-1 at the start

The remix of Nirvana was by a mate of mine, was one of his first productions - I love it!

And yes it is Wired that samples Champion Sound

Thanks djms (don't know your name sorry, I hate using messageboard usernames to address people!) appreciate it And I do a lot of this kind of thing live when I can.
