Who Drinks Orange Koolaid - Without Any Sugar???

ANYONE???

When I was a youngin' back in '77 we had this neighbour (whose name I cannot remember) and she had a son named Irwin ( ) he was kinda nerdy and had a lazy eye.

She would sometimes babysit us when my parents needed her too and we would go next door and play and build castles in their sandbox.

Sometimes it was hot outside and we would be thirsty - so she would give us some Kool-Aid (YUMMY!!) but there was one problem with said Kool-Aid - (well actually 2)......

1 - It was orange (was never that fond of orange Kool-Aid)

2 - It didn't have ANY SUGAR IN IT!!

EWW YUCK GROSS!!!

I asked the mother - "why do you give us this nasty Kool-Aid (orange at that) with no sugar in it?????"

She said "because Irwin likes it that way!?!" - quite matter of factly
and snippy like...

So me being the mouthy rugrat that I was blurted out "Well Irwin is a nerd and the Kool-Aid you give us is awful - my mother pays you money to babysit - can we please have purple Kool-Aid WITH SUGAR IN IT!! It's three against one" (I have a brother and a sister too).

Needless to say I got in big trouble for being so rude and to this day ABHOR orange Kool-Aid because of this incident.

The thread on popsicle flavours prompted this thread so we now have a chain reaction in effect.....

Anyone remember ORANGE, GRAPE and CHERRY flavoured potato chips????

late 70's early 80's I think - THEY WERE NASTY TOO!!

I also have a tomato soup a la babysitter story that I shall leave for another time.

In elementary school we used to bring packs of kool-aid to school. Open them and eat the stuff like it was candy, SUPER DUPER SOUR! BLAH! Then see who could dump the entire thing in there hand, and all at once put all of it in their mouth and eat it LOL! sooooo sour! Just thinking about it, blah! haha

Lemon Kool-Aid is the worst for that haha

I met you at Tiesto....just recently....I don't know if you remember me....but I shook your hand and said HI.....

You were the only TA that I seen there because I was at the back most of the night....and by the way yes I did drink Koolaid without sugar....and yes it tasted gross...LOL

Same here..... It was Fun then, but gross now!!!

OH YA and SOURBALLS SCAR ME!!! I once ate a whole brown paper bag full at one of my brothers hockey games and I PUKED right there in the stands!!!! I will never have sourballs again!!!

OMG my grandmother used to get so mad at me and my cousin, whenever she would go to make jello it would be gone as we used to take it for "lunch" and eat it straight from the box. Now a days kids are using the Mr.Noodles packages, they crush the noodles sprinkle on the flavoring and eat it raw YUK!

lol I have a confession.....i used to do that when I was younger. I LOVED it!!

ugh, and I remember when my brother and I were really young, our aunt used to make us kool-aid. I guess she didn't know how to make it, because she would add 2 packages and NO SUGAR!!! ick! it was horrible.

I am not sure if Jenny-jen was there..........I met so many people last night at System.....but alas - she is a wikkid girl and an awesome dancer.......
