Pendulum - Hold Your Colour

PENDULUM

'HOLD YOUR COLOUR'
BREAKBEAT KAOS

4LP/CD

(AUGUST 2005)

Pendulum drop their eagerly anticipated debut album 'Hold Your Colour' on Breakbeat Kaos.

Featuring 13 bold and diverse tracks, the album combines the trio's groundbreaking blend of heavy electronic funk, never-before-heard innovative sounds and 'real' musical elements to produce a monster of a long player, destined to break down genres and smash up charts worldwide.

After bursting onto the scene with 2003's debut 'Vault' (which won "Drum'n'Bass Tune Of The Year", Pendulum have since gone onto take the titles of "Best Breakthrough Producers", "Best Producers", and again "Tune Of The Year" in 2004 with the mighty 'Another Planet' an anthem of such epic proportions it made No. 43 in the UK National Charts.

'Hold Your Colour' is set to follow suit when it drops; straight from the huge cinematic introduction, the album takes you on a action packed ride from anthems to emotional journeys and everything in between. From furious dancefloors bombs 'Slam', 'Hold Your Colour' and the massive 'Tarantula' featuring the vocal talents of MC Spyda and Tenor Fly, to smooth soulful rollouts 'Plasticworld' and 'Streamline'. From breakbeat monsters 'Fasten Your Seatbelts' and 'Out Here', to the latin-rock electro fuelled funk of 'Girl In The Fire' -- this long player takes listeners on a trip through genre bending territory.

The Pendulum story thus far can only be described as one of much warranted overnight success... and their debut album holds all the promise of becoming a dance classic.

One of the most ambitious drum'n'bass albums in history... it shows how far you can take drum'n'bass and makes the sound accessible for a whole new section of music lovers. Pendulum have created the drum'n'bass equivalent of stadium rock (Mixmag magazine).

fasten your seatbelts is fucking amazing

The 'hold your colour' track is absolutley amazing...its a soft drum n bass style sound which i really like. All the other tracks are very nice as well, 'through the loop' & 'girl in the fire' probably being my favs.

i think they have tried little too hard to appeal to the masses. i prefer most of their earlier work, but fasten your seatbelt is indeed hevy!

Quite possibly the best Australian producers?

I'm looking forward to this album.

sure they're absolutelly great, having invented the "stadium-dnb" however I wouldn't go as far as saying they're the best Australia has to offer..

I Mean.. lets not forget about Luke Chable & Infusion there, eh?

been waiting for this for a while now and wasnt disappointed. Very enjoyable album and nice to see they have varied their style between the tracks a bit because it could have gotten a little boring but they stayed clear of that.

absolutely love Slam and Hold Your Colour

Superb album! I'm not usually too bothered about DnB but I'm really loving Pendulum stuff atm.

Track to look out for: 'Out Here'... it's incredible! One of the two breaks tracks on the album, proper chunky filthy stuff

can't wait to hear this album, i'm a huge fan of Vault and alot of their remixes of other artists songs. wasnt there a pendulum remix of a concord dawn song that was sick as hell?

wicfked album, im particularly liking slam, the intro is very 'another planet'ish. i wasnt too sure when the slow beat kicked in but after repeat listens im growing to love it.

i also like sounds of life, really nice vocally track. the only tracks i didnt really like were a couple of the darker tracks. i got the vinyl release so i didnt get all the tracks

but i already own tarantula on vinyl

This album is fuckin' ace. I'm really liking almost every track on it. Gets a 9/10 from me!

Posted by Troia on Jul-28-2005 18:32:

Yeah, this is a really amazing album.. i dont even listen to dnb either because most sets get so heavily boring but this album has alot of good change and diversity...

VERY good 9/10

"hold your colour" probably being my favorite track
