i kinda hate the city myself, since u have 2 be 21 for all the good events. and trance DJ's barely come, mostly house..

I think everywhere in there world its becoming like that.

people are even saying trance is dying.

here in australia house is more common than anything else and all they

play is shitty commercial house which shits me.

by the way i would also love to go to miami

youve got to be fucking kidding me. miami's edm scene is the envy of the nation. yes it is predominantly house, but the big name trance hitters come here at least a couple times a year, tiesto, ferry, pvd, etc, not to mention wmc. miami is mecca when it comes to clubs, nightlife culture, and diversity. what other city can you go out at 8pm to a lounge to listen to some soulful beats, then head to another venue on the beach and listen another genre till 5am, and then head to space or nocturnal and listen to funky, groovey house? seriously i want an answer... miami is an amabassodor of cutting edge edm here in america, you here it in MIAMI FIRST, then everywhere else, end of stroy. there is something for everybody here, yes trance isnt as prominent as years past, but musik is cyclical. seriously i hope you were just bored because this is one of the dumbest threads of 2005. trust me you dont know what youve got till you move out the area, thats where i am at right now.

This was well said, Neil.

I got into EDM in '99, 2 years after first moving here, and I can't possibly imagine living anywhere else in the U.S., despite the low number of trance events.

Now, Europe, on the other hand...Amsterdam. That's where'd I move to if I could. No lack of music for me there.

Miami does suck indeed

The clubbing scene is crap, I bet it's much worse than NY or Chicago, and even Atlanta (yes I said it) they get much more "quality" events unlike here when we get the same people every two or three months (e.g. Kleinenberg, Fanciulli, Deep Dish) I personally tend to get bored seeing the same guys every so often

and don't even get me started with our residents... if a guy is not playing at a given club then it's most likely he's playing at a different club that night. We probably have about 6 or 7 guys that are residents in every fucking club, what kinda shit is that??? Don't tell me we don't have enough good DJs, and even if that was the case isn't anyone else from out of state brought to be a resident here.

Let's face nightlife here sucks, we tend to run out of options because the parties are always the same (same residents = same music every night) PLus there are no underground parties like in Europe, those people who try to bring us something different are brought down in a matter or weeks if not days because of lack of support by clubs and by party goers

So don't tell me we have a great scene here in Miami, could it be much worse? probably, but it still is really bad

u sir.. are a complete idiot.

and do i have to say this again... Miami only sucks because you make it SUCK..

Do me a favor and read Mattivi's post.

While everywhere else the dj's are ending at 3 am.. I'm going to the club @ 3.

Our night life is much better then tons of others...

Posted by FallingMoon on Jul-23-2005 16:22:

honestly I'd rather be in this city than any other...don't be so ungrateful...when you live in a place like nowheresville, oklahoma or some minute city that isn't even on the map where they let the psycho serial killers roam, you'll realize and wish your ass was here again...

I like Miami even better than the other big states like ny and cali.

but if you really want to go down to it.........I'd rather be in Europe!

*edit* Mel made a great point about the closing club times! What the fuck does one do after getting out of a party at 3?

no ur an idiot for making dumb comments. but dont u think if u had a crappy time then maybe u should just start looking for new friends.

i can be in the shittiest place and have a great time cuz my friends rok. but hey.. if ur into leaving clubs at 2 - 3 am then go ahead.

I'm a night person and the scene in miami is great. There's no place like home so go on with ur opinion.. but it's kinda weak.

Sleep, get high, get crunk or get laid.

Or...keep partying.

So I guess I'll happily commit suicide before ever flying to Chicago to party, then.
