So yeah.... Blank & Jones rocked the club in a major way... Taj and Gianni tore it up too. Don't know who spun til 6:30 but he dropped some hits too. All in all, a great night!

Posted by sheffy on Jul-24-2005 21:33:

I stayed for only a few hours (for B&J mostly) but the music was rocking. The crowd's vibe sure has changed at this club though. I keep hoping these experiences are not indicative of a permanant change here, and that I just get unlucky with a whole bunch of rude people around, pushing etc.

Just out of curiosity, how does VIP work at 1015? I bought a normal ticket ($10 or $15 from Groovetickets) and when I was getting let into the club, the guy with the willcall list put a wristband on me and said it was for VIP access. Sure enough I was able to go to the VIP areas. I was looking around the main non-VIP room and nobody else had wristbands on. Very odd. I'm not a 1015 regular, surely that must have been a mistake?

Yeah, it's like a new thing at Ten15 and sorta weird....guess the upstairs is once again a true VIP floor on Saturday nights? I dunno, kinda pointless for my tastes so I didn't worry about it (sure I coulda got one if I care :-p).

Maybe if you buy presales you get access to the VIP...the vast majority of the Ten15 crowds are walkup crowds, so.

For the night, yeah...once again a shovey rude crowd. I'm getting to the point where I'm just the same way there cause you just gotta be. Gianni opened and played quite a bit fluffier than I'd ever see him but I enjoyed it quite a bit for what it was.

Blank & Jones played some great tracks, but I thought the programming suffered a tad. Not a spectacular flow to it all and their mixing was shotty. Would hear some great transitions then the next time around it would be quick, harsh ones. Oh well, still had a great time listening to them.

Taj come on after B&J and well, he was Taj. Taj is awesome. Left when he was playting so I don't know who close out the room if it wasn't him.

BTW, anyone see that WICKED wreck at the corner of 6th & Folsom between the huge SUV, Yellow Cab, a bike, and a van? (and maybe more)

Know two peeps who saw it first hand. I left shortly after it happened and peeps were stuck in the back of the cab and they were bringing out the Jaws of Life to cut them out or something. I dunno, I didn't happen.

Apparently the peeps in the SUV ran the readlight bigtime, jackknifed the cab and caused all kinds of shit to happen...shit was ALL over the road and the crime scene tape was being brought out.

Apparently the peeps in the SUV were very, very drunk when they got out.

Here's a blurry pic from one friend, but have a friend who took video and better shots with his camera...will try to post if I can get them...

I didn't make it out that night. I haven't been to ten15 in some time but I know that the crowd there has been changing for some time now. That wreck looks terrible from both the description and the pic. I hope everyone involved the accident are recovering well. Be safe out there, partygoers...

I guess I will be catching B&J at either Avalon next month or LP in Sept.

glad to hear the boys tore it up as always.

i cant wait for them to come to la in aug.

last time i played with them, my set got cut to literally 3 tracks... it was a good lil 3 traxx but nonetheless.. a joke of set.

i am looking forward to getting to play along warm up set for them.

glad evryone had a good time.

any pics?

Posted by R!CH on Jul-25-2005 05:16:

eh, here's some pics from dave's camera, i wish i brought mine ...

at one point in the middle of the set the entire room was chanting 'blank & jones!' over and over, piet got a kick out of that and started filming the crowd.

Update on that wicked accident...

A suspect allegedly involved in three hit-and-run collisions in San Francisco Sunday morning is in police custody, a San Francisco police officer reports.
Prior to the collisions, the suspect had been involved in an argument with security guards, the officer said. The suspect drove off and struck a vehicle near Eddy and Taylor streets, police said.

The suspect fled and at Sixth and Howard streets hit two motorcycles, the officer said. The two motorcyclists suffered serious injuries, police said.

The suspect continued driving and hit a taxi at Sixth and Folsom streets, police said.

Police arrested the suspect around 3:30 a.m., the officer reported.

Whoa so I was right about the two motorcyclists. Well I hope everyone is okay ...

Damn... that asshole will probably never drive in CA ever again, will be hit with so many lawsuits he'll never be able to afford going out on the weekends again, and hopefully he'll get a nice little prison term as well. I just hope his victims can make full recoveries. I hate hit-and-runners!
