Armin In Dallas Review
I represented the west coast in Dallas this weekend to see Armin, Oakey and Junkie XL. After being spoiled in LA with nice venues and progressional massives I would have to say seeing those dj's in dallas remind of me going to a punk show when I was in HS and college. The venue was packed no doubt but it was 17+ no dress code event in some total ghetto area near downtown with a bunch of houses around. The most insane thing at this event was that it was literally over 100% degree's inside the ENTIRE TIME!!! The system was just way too fucken loud but everyone seemed to love it. I think the picture belows gives some sort of perspective on how hot it was in there. Look at the guy that looks like a zombie and the sweaty chics.
Armin came on @ 2am and I could only last till 4am. I was seriously ready to pass out in there!
Armins Set: Started out with a couple of ez tracks the indigo one and halcyon, but right after that turned up the juice and just hit heavy all night long. Armin and his stage acts of playing the air violin and air guitar was wooing the crowd. After 2hrs he was still banging it on the hardside. He played till 4:30 so I missed the last 30mins.

Haha, other than the temperature, sounds like a really good time. A couple of my friends went too, and were text messaging me during Oakey/Armin, sounded really fun. I would have died though -- I sweat about as much as that guy with the sheer longsleeve shirt.
Do you have more pictures from the event?
Also, I thought this was kinda cool. One of my friends who went, her favorite song is G&D - Arcadia, and the other friend, his favorite song at the moment is Tiesto - Traffic. I guess Oakenfold played Arcadia (she went nuts) then he mixed right into Traffic (he went nuts). Those are the kinds of freak occurances that will make nights memorable for people.
Oh and Armin signed her ticket stub
The tall guy in the white shirt looks a bit scary yeah...like something out of Ren & Stimpy or something..
Did you goto Armin at the WMC. at Spin in Miami, The AC was broken and it was seriously hot.... Sorry to hear about the Ghetto style.

I know what you mean when you referenced the punk club atmosphere.
PVD played L5 here last year and the club was way to small/loud/hot/packed . . . and I loved every minute of it. I staggered out of there drenched like I was just in a fight.
Posh clubs are great but there is always room for down & dirty too.
I wonder if Armin has started playing Police, Queen, and that jazz thing from ASoT 206
He said he would "test" it in IbiTHa...
