might aswell hook up 2 MD's to a mixer.. both are still not gonna have a PITCH CONTOL (I hope I am wrong). I dont think this will tap into any part of the professional market..

I dont know about anyone else but the whole ipod thing is going a little to far i think, their annoying commercials were bad enough....but hopefully there is some way to change the pitch/tempo of the songs so you wont have to go two decks dan with it after paying a lot of money for something like that
Wouldnt it just be easier to buy a laptop?!?!? realy i think the idea of having a mixer made for ipods and having to buy two ipods is just stupid.

Today i was talking to my friend who is in love with apple and showed him this and after a little bit of conversation i realized something. Let's say i have to dj a house party but i can't carry all my records with me because the party is at an apartment in san fran and i have no car...which means i have to walk from campus to the event. Most people in this modern day and age have ipods and most djs on the other hand don't have all the songs people may request. But if they have their ipods along you can use that to mix with for a house party. They can label the ipods with their info for security purposes too. I think i might buy one of these so all i have to do is carry the mixer to the event. There is one version with out pitch adjsutment (that version i guess would only be good for a mediocre dj who cuts) but there is also i version with a pitch adjustment that will soon be available and that will be very cool.

Saw this in the paper the other day and they said the price was gonna be around 300
It did say that you can hook a tt or cdj up to it as well though which makes more sense than 2 ipods cos who has 2 ipods
Total cost of this would be 2 ipods plus the console which would get you a pretty nice set up anyway lol
You know, I'm an Apple fanatic and I've owned 3 iPods over the past few years. This idea intrigued me at first, but you have to realize... it is technically IMPOSSIBLE for these to have a pitch slider. The iPod cannot control pitch in hardware. It can do simple time-stretching and time-compressing for audio books, but precise pitch controls are not a function of the decoder chip on the 'Pod. So, for a 'console' like this to have a pitch slider, it would have to interface with the iPod like a hard drive and read MP3s from it, and then decode the MP3s itself. That means the iPod is just being used as a hard drive, and, well, it'd be cheaper and easier to just buy one big 200gb hard drive.
I don't see how this could work.
edit: On the other hand, for those 'obscure' songs I just can't find on vinyl, I hook my iPod up to a line in on my mixer. It works fairly well in a tight spot.
