Ashes test

I am not suprised you poms havent started a thread, to embarressed?

Whats the excuse for you crims not starting one though?

havent seen much of it, been in work.

been watching the highlights though. WIthout peterson yous would be in a laughing stock. The question markers were on him before the test where he could perfrom, he has certainly stepped up to the plate. The rest of the batters seemed to have leggged it in fear though.

SOme awful awful catching on display aswell, even by peterson aswell. Some very poor Decisions by the umpires aswell. Peterson getting split in 2 by brett lee and yet it wasnt a lbw? that was one of the worst decisions i have ever seen. How the hell did he not give him out?

Mcgrath has been on fire, so has Warne. Watching warne play is very enjoyable. Nice to see peterson wallop him about a few times though.

Hopefully england pull the finger out in the next test.

1-0 to the aussies.

yup, someone had to say it! I think we can come away with 2 wins from 3 series for the tour (sux about the drawn final tho).

Its going to be even better beating them senseless when they were so full of hope...way better than the last 8(?) times when they knew their place in the world

What was that you were saying?

Got to say the second test was one of the best cricket matches i have ever seen. Flintoff was amazing all game, as was Warne.

2nd test: england dominent for the first few days, should have got more in their second innings, was only some superb batting from Lee and Warne that almost salvaged it.

3rd test: england beat australia in EVERY session. Warne single handly salvaged the draw. If it had not been for the rain England would have easily won

4th test: England enforced the follow-on, dominated the first couple of days. Should have been an extremely win but i think the nerves kicked in.

I know the actual margin of wins was far from dominant but beyond the figures England were well on top. What worries me is that England have been playing close to their best while Australia have been poor yet England are only just ahead.

Aussies havent got a chance in the last test

You ******s are going down

the best ashes series ive had the pleasure of watching
good to see that the tables of turning (took a while though)
one thing us aussies love is a more than even contest where we have to fight to stay in it. cricket was getting to be a bit of a bore over the last 5 years but its good to see the poms hitting their straps. shame they only love their teams when they are winning.....

Yea cos when England are under performing in a given sport I usually switch to supporting France

Wayhey for the poms!!

We deserve it

It'll make the next ashes more exciting if we win it

i meant that all i hear is whinging when they arent on top, and then at the other end of the spectrum there is elation and a "we are so much better than you" attitude.
sif youd support france

that jsut proves that you lads have serious trouble putting them away. Its all and well good to dominate them in the first few days, then to nearly al let it all slip away in the final day.

All this "if it had not been for warne we would of easily won" i could say the excact same with an english player in place for all the tests.

Posted by Nayil on Aug-31-2005 04:15:

if england wins...aussie = history

i know, that's what worries me!

Posted by Matty V on Sep-10-2005 09:37:

Mefinks England will need a good days rain to help us get a draw because Australia are looking solid at the moment.

I been doin rain dances all week and guess what?!

It pissed it down in Sheffield...
