Final Fantasy VII
i know with me one game that jsut really captivated me made me feel for the characters and jsut gave me a sense of not being able to wait till the next time i played was final fantasy VII for the original play station the music was amazing the game play was ridiculous and one of the better stories written to this day... i wanna know of any recent games that have sucked you in like that or anyone still holding on to final fantasy VII as one of the greatest rpgs of its time????
Defintely one of the best games ever.
ChronoCROSS sucked me in bigtime. I don't play it much anymore but still love it. As for FFVII, Ruby Weapon is the main reason I stopped playing. I couldn't beat that son of a bitch.

Oh man, I remember that, took me like 90 hours to master it a few times lol, finally beat ruby and I was like o.O don't feel like playing anymore
TOO much time on my hands back then. But yeah, that was my first game on playstation and still pick it up occasionally today.
ya'll know about advent children right?
The only game that 'sucked [me] in' as much was Xenogears, which I enjoy almost as much as FFVII. I also own the original soundtracks to both games, which are brilliant.

ok; take the graphics of advent children along with the amazingness of the original PS final fantasy VII, and you've got yourself the tech demo for the PS3;
my friend read somewhere that squaresoft will be remaking ff7 for ps3. if this is true, it will be absolutely incredible.
period.
end of sentence.
done.

One of the best games ever. One of my first RPGs. Captivating, to say the least. Can't wait for Advent Children.
Loved the game, but FF3/6 ment more to me

you and me both man;
can you imagine how many of us like that there are out there?! i know at least ten people that would want to buy a ps3 just for that game. seeing as how the ps3 will most likely be at least 300 bucks, that's a shit load of money just for a game
they would make so much money... and it's been so long since it too. think about knights of the round, and like you said, the weapons...
awwww, my mouth waters...

I really hope that the team at NAMCO gets to finish out the Xenosaga series to their liking. I'm eagerly awaiting the remake of Xenogears (Xenosaga Episode 5) when they get around to it. |
This was one of my first ever RPGs and it sucked me right in, every character was perfect and unique in there own little way. This game had the lot, music, gameplay and story. Is one of my favourite video games to date, hands down.

yea, in the end the weapons are really easy to beat. you just need to a) have the right materia/armor combinations, b) get into a rhythm where if weapon does this, you do this, c) repeat over and over.
my roomie in college didn't believe me that i could beat them, so after not playing for 2 years, i took the game out, went to an old save game, and played emerald and ruby right in front of him. i timed myself, emerald i was able to beat in a little over 20 minutes (just barely over...almost didn't need underwater materia), and ruby in about 15 minutes.
where is that video without using the summon? i am entrigued. i was thinking of a way to do it. 4 cut, added cut, etc, but i wanna see it being done.
Square definatly made a name for themselves with RPGs. I heard that the Advent Children movie will first come out for the PSP and a few months later for DVD. Personally I ain't waiting and rushing to get one a few days in advance of release of the actual movie. As for remakes, i seriously doubt it because there were talks about this for PS2 instead FF Origins and shit came out.

FF7 is still the best game EVER. Another series of games that sucked me in were Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for Xbox. Great storyline good character progression and good character relationships.

You didn't get what I was trying to say either. I know they are both coming out on the same day. But the last time I even inquired about this was months ago when Gamestop.com said that it was coming out on UMD. Don't get me wrong, this makes me a whole lot more happy considering the fact that I have no use for a PSP and don't have to buy it just to see the movie.
Can you pre-order it on Amazon yet?
