I've used the free one, which I think is the one you posted the link to... looks like they are charging for it now.

The filters on it are pretty nice and it has a very usable sound for trance. Does leads, pads and fx especially... wooshes and rises etc... Basses not so well.

Sounds kinda thin and software at times though. Effects are almost non existent too. Takes a fair bit of tweaking to get sounding right, luckily the user interface is well laid out.

hmmmm...i believe the free one is called superwave p8

yep..thats the free one...i use it too =)
just wondering if there is a significant difference between the p8 and trance pro

Posted by aK-M on Jul-25-2005 08:39:

ahh this synth is extremely good! the p8 is awesome, but try and get your hands on the superwave-pro & trance-pro, for some reallly really phat lead sounds!

i use it myself in my productions, really gives you that supreme trance sound

It's a fairly alright synth, but not too impressive. Still a pretty nice buy at only 29.99 compared to other synths

it is very good depending on how u use your additional FX

Posted by Tech0rz on Jul-25-2005 12:10:

It's ok but nothing special, it's pretty much pay and play with some decent presets, but one thing that I've experienced and I know others have 2, with FL5 (and possibly other sequencers?), the first bar or so when a pattern is played back sounds warped and really chorusy. It's a pain but there's a simple way round it.

yeah alot of people complain about that, it can sometimes be fixed by the level of attack, and the cutoff & reso filters. It can be quiet a pain in the ass, but like u said Tech.. easily fixed.. apart from that, if u think the quality of the synth isnt that good, u are using Fx that dont bring out the best in your sounds, u cant expect to select a preset and wahla! its gonna sound like a professionaly produced trance tune

cheers

alex

But it isn't that good, for a start it was made with 'Synth Edit', which in my experience produces bad sound quality. Don't get me wrong, this isn't the best VSTi but you can't complain for the price. Of course you can improve the sounds, with an EQ or 2. Just don't expect wonders.

No shit, I was merely complimenting the preset bank...

Posted by Tech0rz on Jul-25-2005 13:06:

Posted by Tech0rz on Jul-25-2005 13:14:

Z3ta is sick indeed, the Virus mod for it is cool aswell...I'm also fan of V-Station and I just got impOSCar which looks promising

yeah man those additional sound patches are very essential in plucking those nice sounds as u would know ... as for the v-station i use this very often also, with the vengeances patches, another killer

Perhaps... It's not a perfect synth though, somehow you'll have to overcome the sort of phasing effect that always appears at the start when streaming the synth (like Tech0rz mentioned). I don't like that at all, takes away alot of the quality of the synth. I don't think people will want to buy a buggy product

gr8 pads and fxs as someone said. but the supersaw isnt good enough.. it isnt crispy and generally its highs arent good. layer it with vanguards highs tho and you have killer a saw.

hehe no need to layer it with vanguard re jason , just use the Ableton Eq and boost up the top end, works wonders

Posted by dj jasonF on Jul-25-2005 16:41:

im not saying that its just missing high end... even if you add it with an eq it wont be good enough IMO. plus i love vanguards high end

and i dont use ableton
