There may only be but a few people here who can truly appreciate Jiri.Ceiver, and I doubt he'd be one of them.

The tracks aren't that wacked out. The most abnormal ones are Hvb and Trental400/5, the rest are ambient or straightforward german techno/acid/harthouse sound. But even Hvb and Trental400/5 aren't so outlandishly freaky and unique as people make them out to be. The minimality of Trental400/5 might throw some off. Hvb is just sounds we've all heard arranged new and interestingly. I'm more worried about he FCvsSCO album for him not being appreciative.

Heh, certainly not remotely close to the wackiness of Jig, Amble & Lisp. Still and all, Head.phon is unique in its own right and quite different from the rest of the stuff on Harthouse. I doubt he'd take a relish to it as it deviates from trance not a little. Or, who knows...maybe he will.

All I know is that as I listened to the CD my hopes increased until I got past Trental the tracks started to sound like your standard european/german techno.

My guess is the one that would be the most difficult to get into is the Spicelab album as it requires patience to listen to. Monster tracks with usually more than one movment with sounds gradually introduced, removed, and reintroduced over nearly 20 minutes of track.

The Arpeggiators album is straight up classic German Hard Trance. The kind of stuff they played at Das Omen, in fact Express Yourself is a track dedicated to that club.

And i'm sure you'll find something to like in the Carry On Harthouse compilation. It has harder tracks, softer tracks, acid, melodic tracks...meh.

Yes you can buy all these and many more used from Amazon.com, usually at a fraction of the full price and in nearly mint condition(no scratches on cd, all inserts, etc).

Well, I did rate it on discogs as a 4, largely due to the abstract acidic sounds, despite the album's overall mediocrity. To be frank, there's not many Ceiver tracks I'd include in a set, even though I'd own that he's quite a talent.
