Virus Question (Problem)

Sorry if this is really 'newbish' but here goes (its my first synth)

I have my virus A hooked upto my audiophile 2496.
When I play the demo song (on the virus) it comes through my speakers fine no problem, however how do i get it to play sounds from the Virus when im jamming via my midi keyboard ??

Any help appreciated. Cheers.

Either you have a midi keyboard and you plug its out into the in of the virus, but then your computer will be isolated so you can plug your midi keyboard via usb (if you can) plug its out in the midi thru of the virus and in out of the virus into the in out of the soundcard. It should play when you open up a sequencer. Hope this helps, and btw, since you have a virus, please read my recent post see if you can answer it (its still on page one)

I've got a bit further now except i've hit another problem.

In cubase, when i click on a note in the piano roll it appears to send the midi signal to the virus and plays a sound. Except the sound continually plays?
The virus reads its permanetely reciving midi note after midi note of the same one very quickly.

Any ideas ?

It might be a bug in cubase, if the note continually plays when the sequence is stopped....hit the note thats playing in cubase on your keyboard or virus in this situation.

try making sure the following is true:

1. you are running the latest version of virus os
2. make sure your cubase is patched
3. Cubase should be master clock, virus midi clock set to "auto"

Also try this: only conect your DAW midi out to your virus MIDI in, don't run Virus' midi out - see if that resolves your problem. If it does, you may need to filter what messages get sent back to virus, otherwise you'd create endless loop.

If you have another master kbd you can hook up to virus - test it out. See if when you play from another kbd, if virus freaks out. If not, then issue must be with DAW.

Btw does anyone know how to actually record the virus's sound to audio, i can play it midi no problem even record knob movements but how to I export it to audio mixdown or make audio tracks?
