Switching Phone Services
This coming October, my contract with Sprint will end. This is truly a horrible service. They shut my phone off again today because they say my check was returned with insufficient funds, and the money is in my bank account! Now I have to fax them proof that sufficient funds was in the account. Is there anyone who has had great experiences with any other phone company in the past/present? And if so, what company do you prefer? I heard Verizon is one of the best services, but I also heard its a bit expensive.
im switching from verizon to cingular cause i love the motorola razr.
but verizon remains to be in #1 spot of best phone service,
Sprint is the all time worst and I am honestly thinking of dishing out the $150 to just switch up. My roomate works for a cellphone company and told me and even tells his clients that verizon is #1.
Cingular rite now but it sucks very expensive but great service but too much.
Thinking of going to Nextell cuz everyone i know has that shit.
so cingular has a great service?
I have cingular, and good friends in different parts of the state also have cingular, which is great because we talk for free (they have free mobile to mobile). They dont have the greatest text messaging packages compared to other companies, but they have the roll over minute plan which is also great because you accumulate more and more minutes every month. They have the nicest phone selection also. Ive also had no problem with the signal, just some dead spots here and there.
verizon has great service, but they love to slap on charges for services you never subscribed to. It's happened to me on more than one occasion.
haha i see no one mentioned TMobile. They often have good packages and discounts on fone when u purchase service, but ive had TMobile on and off in the past and reception has always sucked. Great txting package though eheh.
Verizon i heard has great service but shitty customer service -- then again the latter seems to apply across the board
i have verizon. great. exept everytime u gotta get into ur mailbox u gotta put a damn password!!! pisses me off.
oh and i never get reception in basements like parking basements
Hmm.. What't the Monthly pay rate on Verizon when you first start. Hopefully not more than $60/mos.

that's weird they just did a study on cellphone providers from complaints to dropped calls. Verizon was ranked the best and sprint was close. The worst service was cingular, has the most dropped calls and worst coverage area out of any cellular company. I have sprint, granted it sucks in Dallas, but now that I live in Austin shit works awesome. But Dallas is flat and Austin has hills, so I'm sure that's why the signal is a lot stronger. I guess it depends what city you're in.
Cingular is the way to go.....I have not had service problems with them, I get service in the subway, doesn't get much better then that. Prices are not that bad I pay about $65 a month and think now Mike every time you call me your not gonna use any of your minutes

ive has problems with them since 2001, i am suing them in small claims court very cuz im disputing this debt since then and they illegally sold my account and released my information to third parties, the stature of limitations runs out on it this year so if i dont take them to court they will prob take me but i have more than enought evidence and incriminating recorded phone calls, and yea i did tell the person they were being recorded for legal purposes

From my experience and all my friends' cingular is the best. Verizon went totally downhill after the blackout because that was the only wireless network that worked and everyone started to switch to it. On the 6 train in the city my phone works underground and Verizon phones often don't. Plus, Cingular is cheaper and has the sickest feature, Roll Over, I know have 1250 minutes a month for 50 bucks plus 4020 roll over minutes in reserve.

I like cingular, excellent reception. The only bad thing is their customer service is rude and inept.
Verizon i hear really good things about too... u cant go wrong with either. unless u have a problem then youll spend hours trying to get cingular to fix something they messed up in the first place
