WOW - Sennseiser HD 280 Headphones - $50 at eCost

They are a shopping cart special. Price shows at $99.99 but when you add them to your cart they are $49.99.

HD280 at eCost

It was between these and the Sony 7506s. I chose the Sony's, but for this price, I may pick them up as a back-up.

If you need new cans, thise is a great price for a very well respected pair.

I dont know when this ends. US/Canada only, I think. + shipping.

great headphones though two problems with them, the first is a minor one.

1) it takes about 50 hours to "burn" them in. the first 50 hours the sound will be kind of flat. after the burn-in period then the real richness of the headphones come through.

2) the headband is extremely weak. TREAT WITH UTMOST CARE! the material covering the two sides of the headband are prone to break, so do be careful.

other than that, i've been extremely impressed and love my HD-280's...still going strong for 2 years, even if the headband is starting to show signs of weakness.

That's a good price "fo sho". Just wondering - but how far out of the headband do you slide the earcup pieces when using your 280s? I pull mine out about an inch which probably causes some stress on the plastic, hence cracking.

I got some 2" wide cloth tape similar to duct tape to strengthen the headband ends. So even if the plastic cracks the pieces will be held together a while longer.

Any decent piece of audio equipement requires burn in. I don't know what your problem is with that!
Heck even cables require 2 3 weeks of burn in ( depending on the quality ).

Just run the cans on at home with some classical music and various non heavy music for several days straight!
