OceanLab - Satellite (Bren-F's Orchestral Rework)
[DD]OceanLab - Satellite (Bren-F's Orchestral Rework)
Yeah, yeah, YEAH! I know you are all sick to the fucking hilt of remixes of this track, and this must be like the 1000th remix of it posted here, but I was bored OK !
Anyways,
I have already remixed this track under my Force 10 guise (which some may remember) but was sadly too late for the Anjuna remix comp
Ive been listening to a lot of chill-out lately. To be specific; the classic style chill tracks. Like the stuff by Stealth Sonic Orchestra & Orchestre Cyber France de Paris. And decided to have a go myself. And this is the result.
An epic, film-score-esque track. Big room style.
Im pretty happy with the way this has turned out. I have a few other chill tracks ready to post (which Im gonna space out as not to spam you with my crap tunes)
On a further note, this track will run at exactly 140 bpm. So this can be mixed into a set as an outro/intro track should any of the DJs out there fancy an extended set
All feedback appreciated.
Brendan
This sounds very nice. Except that in the begining the vocals didn't seem to fit in with the instrumentation.
And no, you can never have enough remixes of this track.
This sounds good, I shall spin this if you don't mind.
Thanks

I really like this!
mm I think you should lower the vox high freqs, just a bit..
around 1:53-3:05..just perfect. I imagine a big epic war...it'll fit good into something like Troy or LOTR.
all in all, I like it a lot. I think I'll keep it in my music folder
Bren, ever going to get back to me? :P
Hello,
I love orchestral tracks ! just love it , i have a lot tracks and soudntracks from movies etc... i will keep this number from you on my hdd to my collection... really nice.. and i keep the mind of Aquarian that in the begining the vocals didn't seem to fit in with the instrumentation ... but overall is very nice as i said be4... well done..
Visit and comment mine track too

Cheers!
HOLY SHIT BREN!
HOLY SHIT BREN!
I LOVE this track to pieces!
RE: all the criticism about the vox at the beginning - you couldn't get away with that in Trance, but in Symphonic E, you can get away with anything as long as it sounds good, and the sixth-chord combos the unique mix of vocals and pads create sound DAMN good to my ears, if not to anyone else's.
Dude, we need to collab on a Symphonic E project sometime
My MSN is easily PMable if you're interested
Heh, nice touch with those xylos/marimbas/whatever those are. They sound good.
this track sent me chills man... great job!
hey Brendan,
An excellent and original style remix of Oceanlab's "Satellite" I really love it
Beautifull ambiance and the overall build-up is very clever done!
Keep on the good work there dude

Nice work. Few points.
* The vocal comes right out of my nose at the moment. (Dutch way of saying you had enough of it hehehe)
* I'd put this in a lounge folder, not really a classical folder. Tho I like the strings, this is too generic, flat and dull to get near a classical piece. Don't get me wrong, I really like it as a loungy ambient mix.
* Well that being said, I'd even suggest replacing Orchestral by Lounge, Chill or Ambient but hey why am I so picky
I enjoyed listening and it's all about that.
* Maybe add some twinkling bells (you know, the sound of a falling star or so), horns (high) to back the strings. Room enough for subtle touches!
hey!
this is an awesome piece of music! but i agree with the vocals! they do not fit that good! an instrumental version would be cool!
the instrumental part is fukkin well done! great atmosphere to chill...

Very interesting and original interpretation. You really stuck to the classical theme with all the little percussion touches too, which I like to see. Nice work.
Very different style here,
It works for me, Ill keep this.
Nice1 Bren.
Terry
This is really beautiful in my opinion, keep up the good work.
Hooooooooly godess
Brendan, *getting on my knees* I am not as good as to stand here eye in eye to you.
AWESOME what you made of this tune!
*getting back on my feet again*
I really like this, you did a good job.

When i saw the title i dont expect much because i'm not a big fan of the original but now i have this rework in repeat for at least 2 hours
. I really love it exelent work Bren!
remix
tune is good i have been lookin to make a remix of this tune 4 sum time but i couldent get my hands on the lyrics..would u b able to tell me were to get them or can u upload them please.

Nothing wrong with the vox or the timing. Don't you people have any sense of rhythm? Listen to that bass (cello?) note pulsing...it's in perfect time with the vox.
Anyways...I too just wanted to say it was a refreshing interpretation of an overdone song. SO that's good!
hi bren something different from you dont think you've much practice doing tracks like this as i've never heard something like this from you before.
anyway about the track, the vocals are going too fast verse the instruments the majority of the time especially in the intro. some of the instruments seem a bit random also and the track just seems a little disjointed.
good effort thou probably should leave this kinda stuff to manvel stick to what you know best
realy like your! orchesteral stuff!..
one remark though! the tambourin "chk" is a bit strong
Siemakson
This is very nice!!
Good Job!!
LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT
Great track Bren.
Only thing I can think of to say is I think the instruments could be better. The cellos or something, just sound too synthetic to me. Also, some big powerful timpani or something would have added a nice depth.
Still, love the track, and I think the vocals are fine. I'm keeping this!
good piece of music.
IMO the vocals arn't that off. they do seem to fit in my ears.
bass note played pizzcato (spelling) sound wierd to me.
besides that, this sounds great... would be very interesting to see this in a set.
