DJ gigs leading up to DJ Mag vote

Anyone else notice how it seems like djs have gigs in key markets leading up to the end of the DJ Mag voting. Is it just a coincidence ?, or is it a given that's the marketing plan.
Lot of DJs say they don't care, and I'm sure it's true to a certain point, but what dj wouldn't like to have a nice high rank.

Any thoughts ? Examples ?

I'd like to see an example of how you 'noticed' this. I don't really get what you're on about.

Key djs tour all the time yet they are playing less in less in what you could call the key market; place where DJ mag comes from : the UK.

All the djs play in the US most of the time pissing off fans back home.

I don't know where you're going with this.

I guess that's why I was asking, just to see the opinions out there. I wasn't going anywhere for sure. Somebody said marketing 101.
Look at Tiesto in COncert last year, this year in the US. Armin is playing Space in Miami, Glow at DC, in the US. These are just a few exmples. Maybe I'm over estimating the US market, but the DJ mag vote certainly has moved beyond the UK.

As far as I know Armin has been playing Space and Glow for the last 3 years at least if not more!

I can't believe people take so much stock in the poll. 90,000 people vote in total. That's like pissing into the ocean and saying it constitutes the majority of what the sea is.
