At first I wasn't gonna go. But I had so much fun last year that I'd be nuts to pass it up. HOWEVER, If I need a passport to go into Canada, Then I can't do it. Mine expired in 2001. It would take too lonf to renew it.

Usually Acceptable Proofs of U.S. Citizenship:

Valid U.S. Passport

One of the following carried together with Official Photo ID: (Photo ID not applicable for minors up to 16 years of age)

Certified Copy of Birth Certificate
Certificate of Citizenship
Certificate of Naturalization
Consular Report of Birth Abroad of a U.S. Citizen
Note: A Voter's Registration Card does NOT constitute proof of U.S. Citizenship. Acceptability should be checked with the airline carrier. Persons using a Voter's Registration Card may be subject to extensive questioning on return to the U.S by Immigration Authorities.

Usually Acceptable Proofs of U.S. Citizenship:

PASSPORTS: U.S. citizens who travel to a country where a valid U.S. passport is not required will need documentary evidence of their U.S. citizenship and identity. Proof of U.S. citizenship includes an expired U.S. passport, a certified (original) birth certificate, Certificate of Naturalization, Certificate of Citizenship, or Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States. To prove identity, a valid driver's license or government identification card are acceptable provided they identify you by physical description or photograph. However, for travel overseas and to facilitate reentry into the U.S., a valid U.S. passport is the best documentation available and unquestionably proves your U.S. citizenship.

Buddy- Sept 4 is the Sunday of Labor Day weekend- what calendar are u working on??

Most NY'ers have stayed at the Novotel hotel, simply for its close proximity to the Guv, but there are many to choose from. All depends on your budget, etc...

You can get passports for $60 plus overnighting fees within two weeks, otherwise it takes about 6 weeks for the passport to come in the mail.

Just came back from Canada this past weekend. Going into Canada at Lewiston, I was torn a new asshole by the border patrol person interrogating me.

Coming back, the border guy asked two questions, took 30 seconds, and he let us through with a smile and wave.

In both cases, we weren't asked for our IDs.

Posted by variableS on Aug-01-2005 23:42:

oh, btw, I'm coming up definitely.

$55 (Processing Fee), $60 (3 Day Shipping), and a few more surcharges... if I remember correctly, my passport cost me $157.

And I had it done less than 2 weeks before I planned to go on vacation in the Dominican Republic.

Would someone kind enough to give me a ride up there?

Posted by peace n trance on Aug-02-2005 05:41:

fuck yea i'm going...

check out travelocity.com for hotels, thats how we always book when goin to t-dot and last couple of times we went we stayed at the westin harbour castle which is right down the street from the guv... fuckin NICE too, and i remember the site made it a helluva lot cheaper. i think we are staying somewhere else this time, which looks even nicer, i want to say royal fairmount or something??? that could be way off though...
