Help me plz :-) Trains in the UK
I'm thinking about going to the Armin Only @ September 24th in Birmingham.
The problem is, that I have to fly to London because there are no planes on Saturday going to Birmingham.
But I have to get from London to Birmingham.
It would be kind of you if anyone can help me out.
I'm looking for the cheapest way to get from London to Birmingham. I will probably arrive at London at 20:00.
Just checked thetrainline.com and I've only found a train which costs 88 pounds which is too expensive for me.
Are there any trains that are cheaper? They don't need to be that fast and it's ok if I have to change trains some times.
Any help would be really great from you!!!
maybe a national express coach would be better?
(not sure of the website but try google! Would maybe be like 10/20 return?)
www.megabus.com can get you there for 1 if you don't mind zero leg room and a sore ass by the time you get there...it's only for a couple of hours so that would be my option. Note though that the megabus station is not the normal Victoria coach station, though it is just round the corner from it (Bulleid Way or something).
Virgin Trains are waaaay to expensive, Look at Chiltern Railways - http://www.chilternrailways.co.uk/ It takes a bit longer but it is waaay cheaper (even more at the moment due to tescos paying for half your ticket!)
They go to Moor St Station which is just up the road from Gods.

can you not get into london pretty late? or just kill some time there? then u can get an offpeak train ticket and thats more like around 20-30 ..
I paid 22 i think it was for a return to london from nottingham - travelling out to london around 7pm and returning early sunday morning .. good value
I don't know where you people are looking but the train is 34.90 for a Saver return
24/09 London - Birmingham depart 20.30 arrive 22.39
25/09 Birmingham - London depart 09.03 arrive 11.30
Out of the tickets that are available there are:
Saver Return 34.90(Outward/single journey must be on the date on the ticket. Return journey must be made within one calendar month. May be subject to time restrictions. Reservations are not essential but are recommended for longer journeys.)
Weekender 44.00(Outward travel must be on the date on the ticket, always a Friday or Saturday. Chiltern Trains is the cheapest deal. You should be able to get a return ticket from London to Birmingham Snow Hill for 15.
I live in Birmingham, I know these things!!
Rockabye I'm also coming, and I always go by National Express bus,
so if you wanna meet up, let me know.

Costs me 15 Return to go to london for a weekend out and i dont have to pre-book tickets, worry about getting the right train, i just turn up and go... its so much easier! Plus the virgin trains are like sitting in a dildo, plastic and vile at least with a chiltern train you get a seat with a table, plenty of room, window to look out etc. Plus its only about 30mins longer... which aint that bad Sorry but i wont use virgin ever after having to stand from London to Coventry one friday nite. They suck donkey balls |
