Hmm, HH ain't my cup of tea either, but its sounds rather good. Maybe a bit minimal in the buildup and up to the breakdown. But other than that the production sounds good. Keep up the good work alfi

This is very good. Usually I only like Trance tracks being 7+ minutes long, but this one is always changing so it keeps me interested.

Uses my favourite kick at the beginning (that "Solarcoaster: Airbase Remake" kick).

And you did it all with FL Studio 5. Man, do I need more plugins!!!!

yeah good hard house here-

bass very driving same with percussions

the hoovery lead thing is very pre hard house- the real stuff cool.

i like it, all round hard hitting houser. killer.

Hey Alfi,

Don't forget you application to BitTrance. Geez, these guys saying 'This isn't my cup of thee'. As if they listen to trance 24/7.

Listened to 'Typical Number' about 5 times. Didn't find much wrong with it. Great sound quality. I like the way the bass level is just right. Didn't get my woofers warping at the speed of sound to another dimention and it's not too soft eather.

I like the way some sounds are phased left and right. Makes the main synth and bass stand out more panned in the center.

More of a rythmical track than a melody one. Sounds like some of the synths are sample based, like something you would get out of an MC-909. Very typical, almost oldscool synth sound. Sound like an Ultra Focus VSTi, that's full of oldscool sounds. And yes there is a slight clipping at 6:00. Did you automate the HP filter or did you do it with a controller?

kind regards,

Nick

i automated it.. gonna fix up that as soon as i get time.. cant be arsed now, working on a new tune :P
no sample based synths, apart from the stabs.. one of them is a sample i tweaked the hell out of, the other is a orch hit from hypersonic...
rest of it are synths i programmed/tweaked myself.. cheers 4 the good words

Ehh, excuse me?
What does that have to do with it? No, I don't listen to trance 24/7, but then again, I don't listen to hard house at all so I think I'm entightled to say that it ain't my cup of tea thank you very much. I'm not gonna write a term paper every time I say I don't like something. It's just a matter of taste, so don't go around taking the piss out of other peoples comments like that.

Aha!

I'm listening, and I must say, you really did a great job as far as mastering goes. Excellent lead! Nice atmosphere to it, gives a nice energetic feel in the air. The bass is very old school style, being arranged right after the kick! I like what I hear to be honest. I'm not a big fan of House, let alone Hard House, but this one just stands out with it's trancy elements. It's a head bopper!

Great Job.

Exactly my thoughts
The track rocks thanks to the badass groove of percussion and leads.. I can even hear some nice Psy elements

Nice work man I'll keep it for my player...

I like it, not a Tidy Trax kinda guy myself but I love this one and its an FL production so Im very happy as thats what I use and hopefully one day I can produce something that sounds half as good! Which VSTi's did you use for it if you dont mind me asking?

R.

Hey mate,

Good percussion and well panned too. Well thought out. Sounds typical hard house. Old school sounds :P Very simplistic melody here, but it does enough to make you move your feet.

Those noises at 5 mins are cool, although sound a little bit misplaced. Doesn't do that much for me, but I've never really been into this non melodic hard house.

Good luck with it though

z3ta+, pro-53, hypersonic and a vanguard for the "rise" fx during the buildup

Haven't listened much to HH before, so I can't compare it against anything, but it's a good track.
Got anything a little bit more trancy?

Posted by RiCo on Aug-18-2005 20:33:

I am not into this type of music, but MAN...at 00:52 when the rhythm started, it brought a smile to my face...I really like that sexual bassline (that's how I call that type of bassline at that BPM, hehe). I cannot wait to go to my room and listen to it in my speakers to really feel the bass.
