not many dj's scratches, while playing boshing trance and techno.......very talented dj

Posted by RebeL9 on Aug-02-2005 22:14:

saw him in Aberdeen earlier this year. the set was amazing.
he is underrated. IMO he is one of the best Djs out there atm. I love the way he mixes banging techno with trance and hardtrance.
and the way he totally is all over his mixer and desk is crazy.
just check outTHIS video clip

i think hes cool, but i thought his essential mix was nothing special, lost his flow, played alot of rinsed tunes aswell.

Yes, Eddie Halliwell rocks big time. He's just starting to cement himself as one of the biggest DJs going round. Give him a year or two and he'll be one of the biggest names in edm.

He's got a rotational show on Radio 1 which is on this Sunday - the residency

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/dance/residency/
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/dance/r...iog_eddie.shtml

He's also got a new cd coming out - one disc of Judgement Euphoria three disc set. Check www.eddiehalliwell.com for details.

CD2 sees hard dance deck-nician Eddie Halliwell picking up the pace, shuddering the speakers with his trademark mix of all things tough and trancey. More Than A Life Away, Marco Vs Underworld-style romper is seamlessly blended with Dutch legend Marcel Woods brand new remix of Greece 2000 by Three Drives, Abel Ramoss Aquarius and many more.

Tracklisting:
CD Two - Eddie Halliwell

1. Cirez D - Teaser
2. Douglas - Douglas
3. Umek - Overtake & Command
4. Valentino Kanzyani - Nueva York
5. DJ Electro One - Beata From Krakow

7. Abel Ramos - Aquarius (Randy Katana Remix)
8. John Askew - Blackout

10. Marc van Linden & Sandra Flyn - Laatzen

yah he is AMAZING i watched him at the Global Gathering festival just gone he guy just blew me away that sound woooooooow its was just so " AVE IT " defo keeping tabs on this guy in the future

Posted by Boomer187 on Aug-03-2005 11:43:

he opened for ferry here which was a huge mistake. IMO it really took away from ferry's set cause I was soo blown away (and tired) after eddie 's set. He messes around on teh decks much like morrillo does, but eddie's style is a bit more upbeat than morrillo.

can't wait to see him again.

Posted by Grrrrr on Aug-03-2005 17:57:

Yeah eddie is awesome, saw him in nottingham earlier this year and just to repeat what others have said he blew me away. He completely chopped up montanas edit of traffic, cutting and doing crazy shit for about 10mins. Everyone was going nuts, cant wait to see him again

(And to make that night even better we had a comedy show too, judge jules was on after )

Posted by scAza on Aug-03-2005 19:25:

really gone off him tbh, I think he arses round to much with FX at the expense of decent mixing sometimes, and the way the crowd just chant "EEDDIIIIE" for about 30 minutes before he comes on must be getting pretty fuckin annoying for the othr DJ whose on before him...

I can't believe so many Uk people on this thread are acting like he's little-known or somethin, he plays just about every big hard dance/trance event here now

Thanks man...

It's because he doesn't produce (very much) that he isn't as well known. His mixing was top notch when i heard him live and it's even better on the 2 essential mixes of his ive heard

That video further up is awesome btw

Posted by itsamemario on Aug-03-2005 21:23:

never seen him, but ive heard alot of the sets he has played and maaan, he is by far (technically) the best dj regarding the hard dance scene..

unfortunately hes not playing the weekender (www.tidy.com/weekender) so im not gonna see him there either..

Posted by gizzymcg on Aug-03-2005 22:39:

Eddie if he sticks to the hard trance is a tremendous crowd pleasing DJ. Like the way he played at GLobal last wk. Ultra fast boshing trance. I was loving it.

However his tune selection can leave a lot to b desired, usually he mixes his set up so much style wise that it sounds random. Also he uses the same loop trick on the CDJ everytime he plays. Loops the same tune for 10 mins or so and it just grates on the ear plus theres no need for it.

He is a very talented DJ but time and again he spoils it for himself by doing the above things

that's a bit of an understatement

Posted by Palladium on Aug-03-2005 23:21:

lol

i think he's fuckin with the mixer or with someone under it

Posted by Jonesmalone on Aug-04-2005 00:20:

i think hes technically amazing but ive seen him about 14 times now and his tricks and tunes seem to be the same. he has a lot of energy behind the decks though but i wouldnt go somewere just to see him.

but if you havent seen him he is amazing the first few times he always gets the place rockin.

as for how big he is hes huge really like someone said before you cant go to any big night in the uk without him playing
