still no chance to fully test it out, but the software and divers all installed perfectly fine, and the scratch amp connected with no problems to my laptop and the pcmia firewire card i bought
the NI software works great and is currently anyliyizng all of my media.
FS and FS2 are fantastic if they like your PC / laptop.
they didnt like mine unfortunatly so i switched to SSL.
SSL will work with anything
Well Dino and myself will soon be able to give our reviews on it, as hes heading over to my house now so we can hook it up and try it out.
To Be Continued......
so far!
6.5 out of 10
we had some problems setting up the latency settings, and my laptop hasnt really been optimized yet, but in the future, i think that will move to an 8, or an 8.5 out of 10.
it worked tho... we just had some skipping/slight freezes along the way.. all in all im stoked to get my laptop running well and fully utilize this puppy.
Yup, right now I'd give it the same rating, we had troubles due to neither of us wanting to read the manual, but in the end we had it running but it did have slight skipping and freezing, I think after the settings have been tweaked and the laptop has been setup nicely, that there will be no problems, the laptop has a good cpu (1.6ghz Centrino) so its got enough power, one thing that I was impressed with was that whenever it skipped or froze, it would resume the 2 tracks back to where they should be, so if it is beatmatched and the laptop freezes up for abit, then when it kicks back in both tracks will resume right back together so they are not out of sync, I liked the interface, its nice and simple, its not clogged up with useless shit, just has the basics on display which is all you need, I think I'll still be going with SSL, but FS2 seems to be on the right track, the hardware is nice, they just need to optimize the software more, sound quality was good (only if the MP3s sound good obviously) and its nice that you can use the Amp for other things aswell, good bit of gear, once setup right it will be perfect.
Ya I am currently on TraktorFS 1.1 (I have had it since 1.1 came out) and I am tempted to get SSL but I really hate the ugly ass interface with all the extra stuff on there.
I hope FS 2 works out for you because the NI support truely does not exist.
