rumours rumours rumours
whats the deal?
Sasha and Diggers?

one rumour is that one or both of them are here before NYE

other rumour, which has backup, is that they're planning a huge 30 stop north american tour in february, with full light and sound system tour, could possible be at the ACC and set up like a full concert

anyone hear anything else?

22/11/01: US Tour 2002 / Mix Album

A press release around a month ago stated that Sasha & Digweed would be releasing a new CD compilation in conjunction with their American tour. Well there's been no sign of the CD as yet, but according to the new issue of Mixer Magazine this US tour is a warm up of sorts. They are actually planning on a 30 city US tour starting in late February 2002. They also plan on bringing the legendary Phazon sound system to every city and are hiring Hollywood visuals production company Imaginary Forces, who are responsible for movies such as Spiderman, The Mummy and The Fifth Element.

Sasha said "we have some of the most creative people people in Hollywood working with us. The visuals will be interactive and will respond to the heat, the sound, and the overall intensity of the room. No one has ever seen this shit before, it's fucking fierce!!". He added "I really miss playing in America, I've been away from things for so long and I had a chance to take a step back from djing, and when I thought that I may never be able to do it again, it really put a lot of things into perspective.. I'm just gagging to get on the road and put things back together again!!!"

Realistically though, instead of playing club, this mean they are going to play 4000 to 5000 capacity arena's instead.

S&D are planning a big North American tour in Feb/March 2002, but thats all it is right now, planning. Although it's a pretty safe bet that Toronto will be one of the stops, we won't know for sure until January.

The other rumour that seems very shaky, although it's supposedly from a credible source (one of the guvernment promoters), is that guvernment is trying to bring in Sasha (not Digweed) on December 28th. It is possible though, considering that he will be playing in L.A. on NewYears Eve, it makes sense that he would be doing other gigs in North America on that weekend, and none have yet to be announced.

I'm hoping that it's true, it will be an excellent way to end the year!

Man if the guv brings in only sasha that would be criminal !!! I love both sasha and diggers and heard them spin many times in nyc (Twilo days) but it's always a better experience hearing them both instead of just one. Even though sasha and diggers spin progressive their styles and selections are sooo in sync that it's great to hear one master and then hear the next. Then again toronto will be lucky just to get one of these world class dj's to spin here.

I don't know the specifics, but the one time that S&D played @ Guvernment things didn't go very well. They had several disagreements with the owner & management, and as a result they weren't too happy at the end of the night. S&D supposedly told their management not to book them at guvernment ever again. The word spread around people in the industry pretty quickly, I learned about it from a buddy who was working for Most Wanted Ent at the time.

Hopefully all has been forgiven after all this time.
