2005.09.17. Harvest Festival
A really awesome annual event on a farm 1 hr north of Toronto.
http://www.harvestfestival.org
"Harvest festival is an annual autumn festival dedicated to self-expression and community. The festival is a place of choice and action, a place to share in the primal, communal vibe inspired by music, people and natural beauty. Its a place to exercise creativity, where we gather to create, experience and discover.
At the hub is a huge bonfire, it's the focal point that draws people together. From here you can visit three unique musical environments as well as the kitchen where free & tasty garden goodies can be enjoyed throughout the night.
Each year the festival gets better and better; we look forward to your participation!
Were also going to need people to volunteer during the festival. If thats more your speed, please let us know and well sort that out as well. If you're able, please let us know if and when you wish to join in the fun to help make harvest happen : [email protected]"

Damn this is gonna be GOOD!

This looks very interesting. But $43 ???
Expensive, but worth it. totally different experience than u've ever had, vegetarian food goodies are prepared all night, and u can camp there if u want.
The price accurately reflects the amount of work that is put into an event of this nature. It's not like simply renting a club that's all set up and ready for a party. The venue for Harvest festival is an actual farm...how often do you get an all night electronic music party on a real farm? And so, the farm has to be cleaned up/transformed which requries much more effort, time, constuction materials, and expensive equipment rentals.
On another note... to add something from promise (in case there are any artists here):
And a reminder that the upper loft of the barn will be an art gallery. Artists come bring your work to show. Works are displayed for the love of art and sold with all proceeds to the artists. Email us at [email protected] to coordinate your showing. Wed love to have you there!
I wanna go to this but I'll more than likely be in NYC. My friend Phil will be there.

Final changes/ info
SOUND STAGES CHANGE UP :
In the interests of having the best party possible, weve decided to rearrange the music areas. The techno/house is now in a huge hay-walled structure closer to the bonfire, trance is now in the barn and downtempo is still in the pyramid.
MAP TO HARVEST :
Maps are on the back of the tickets and printable from the web site at http://harvestfestival.org & click on the 'map/tickets' button in the navigation bar. Total travel distance is under 150km.
FOOD DONATIONS :
Please, please remember to bring canned food donation for the local food bank. Its the greatest way to give back to our host township for allowing us in there back yard.
THE NEW PYRAMID :
The new pyramid is looking impressive. We just finished the last touches on the frame by varnishing the wooden crosspieces and were now set to raise the structure, bring in mattresses and pillows, set up the sound and lights and put the finishing touches on this amazing and powerful structure.
SWIMMING :
There is a great waterfall just 10 minutes from the farm. Bring your bathing suit and towel for a dip in the Trent River. Maps are at the gate.
PETTING CORAL :
Sunday morning get up close and personal with the many farm animals in the petting corral. Its a guaranteed laugh so we encourage you to take the opportunity to squish a goose, wrap your arms around a little Shropshire lamb, play tag with the South African Boer goats, and chill in the pasture with Jody the pony.
CAPTURE THE FLAG :
For years now people have indulged in the large scale game of Capture the Flag. There's something vaguely medieval about this passionate annual tradition of stealth and bravery. It starts Saturday afternoon at 5pm. Get into the game at [email protected]
ADVANCE TICKETS ($43) PROMO @ SHANTI BABA, TORONTO :
Our friends at Shanti Baba are including some sweet Nag Champa incense with each Harvest ticket. Drop by, enjoy and say hi. (North side Queen west of Bathurst)
FOOD :
There will be harvest fresh corn on the cob, soup and salads in the kitchen. We also suggest you bring your own food as well.
CAMPING :
We strongly recommend bringing a tent and getting some needed sleep before driving home Sunday afternoon/evening.
KEEPING WARM PLUS :
Bring a TOQUE for the night - 80% of a persons heat leaves from their head. Sunglasses and extra socks for the morning. Remember NOT to bring any glass (protect the animals) or pets, and no smoking in the barn (duh!) - please be careful smoking anywhere and dont litter.
TRANSPORTATION :
There is a car pool section on the harvest site, or give a call around and help friends out with rides. When you arrive see that the parking lot is a big field, but it fills up full so please park tight. Work with the parking attendants (its important!).
CKLN 88.1 RADIO :
CKLN radio has come on board as a sponsor of harvest. Listen for our 60 second ad featuring the music of Noah Pred.
